Shaws Boat Yard

The hotel is well situated for getting around so did everything we needed it to do. I wouldn’t call it ‘boutique’ but it’s heading that way in the lobby etc.. We had an odd experience with housekeeping as they didn’t replace what should have been replaced as part of the Junior Suite package so after 2 days without, we asked reception who arranged for the room to be restocked and the replenishment was fine from there. On arrival we had to ask for the room to be re cleaned as it was dirty from the previous guests with evidence of them being in there. The storage in the room was poor but there’s only so much they can do due to the space/shape of the building, luckily the room had big windows with large windowsill’s so we used them a lot. Nice bathroom but small sink to share, shower was brilliant. Room was comfortable and spacious, we didn’t try breakfast and when we felt like a drink, the bar area was closed. Overall, it did its job.
