Shaver Lake Getaway

This property was beautiful and well stocked! The owner’s communication and help was amazing! We had 8 in our party with 5 of them being young adults. There was a great game room and garage with pool, etc. for them to play. We had a great time and look forward to maybe staying again.

Perfect Cabin

Perfect cabin for the warmth cozy feeling in the mountains during chilly weekend gateway. Quiet, clean and plenty of space for cars. Very close to the main market and marina! Will be back for sure.

The cabin is really beautiful the pictures don't do justice and very well equipped with all necessary things. Clean place very relaxing and Jill answered immediately to any questions we had.

Shaver Lake Delight

Stayed here for one night in September. Nice big cabin just off the road going into Shaver Lake. Nice kitchen, cozy family room, wonderful deck. Slept six of us, each in our own bed. Owner Jill was great, making sure we had clear directions to the place and that we got in OK. Great value and a great time.

Perfect weekend getaway!

Cozy cabin perfect for families

We loved this cabin and will definitely stay again. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc that we needed to eat most of our meals in the cabin. The local restaurants are limited (great pizza, sandwich shop, grill options). The dining area and living room were both big enough for our family of 5 to eat/rest comfortably. The cozy fireplace, tv/dvd player, and beautiful views made relaxing in the cabin a highlight. Bedrooms were comfortable and having two bathrooms was helpful. The renovated kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and original paneling in this cabin was the perfect combo of updated and vintage. Clean, comfortable, and warm from the heater and gas fireplace. The owner Jill was super responsive to questions. China Peak ski area is not far away, and there are two snow parks on the way. There were mudslides and some road work being done which slowed us down, so leave extra time to get around. Carry chains although we luckily didn't have to use them this trip. We had to leave a day early due to storms, but we had an epic ski / boarding day before we left. In Shaver, Bob's Market is well stocked and he is super helpful. Two sporting goods stores carry sleds, clothing and gear. Many trails to hike/walk (we like the trail behind the Forestry Fire Station on Dinkey Creek, which takes you through the woods and down to the shores of Shaver Lake), although right now the snow is so high you would need snow shoes. We have stayed in several cabins in Shaver, and this was by far our favorite. We will be back to enjoy the beautiful deck with gorgeous views.

Perfect Shaver Lake House

The house was ideally located. Easily accessible to Tollhouse Rd., the town of Shaver Lake, and the lake itself. The house was a perfect combination of quaint mountain cabin and updated amenities. We will definitely return! We loved the large deck, spacious outdoor patio sofa sectional, patio table, Barbq and, of course, the view.

Birthday Weekend at Baxter Cabin

We celebrated a family birthday at Shaver Lake. The cabin was great for us. Beautiful view of the valley. Close to the lake, well stocked for group cooking and dining, great area for game playing. Jill kept us well informed and was available if we had any questions. We hiked the Lake Shore Trail and stopped for swimming and a picnic lunch which everyone agreed made for the perfect day.

Comfortable cabin in a convenient location

We had a wonderful time spending a couple days at the Baxter Cabin in January. The cabin was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The location is very convenient- tucked away from main road, but still very close to town’s restaurants. The cabin sits atop a hill and we were able to go sledding right outside the cabin with plenty of space for snowman building and snowball fights too. Look forward to coming back on our next Shaver Lake vacation.

MLK Weekend

Our family stayed at the cabin during our MLK snowboarding trip and it was great. It was clean, spacious, and within 25 minutes from China Peak. The directions and communication from Jill were great. We would stay again.

Great place to spend our Thanksgiving

We really enjoyed our stay at the Baxter’s cabin. Our family went for Thanksgiving and the kitchen was a great size to allow for all of us to get together and cook. We had a little mix up with the check in process but the owner was able to clear it up quickly. Our biggest issue was the snow... while it was beautiful and we absolutely enjoyed it... the people who were supposed to plow did not do a very good job. (Note this is not a reflection on Jill) Even with 4 wheel drives and chains it took us 4-5 hours one day to get my parents out of the driveway. Just something to keep in mind if it snows... Other than that I loved the place and would stay again.

Location, location, location!

Cute cabin in the woods with a great location, just a short walk or drive into town, a minute to the lake. The kitchen is open concept and clean, the living room is comfortable and cozy, the bathrooms small but clean and the bedrooms were restful and well-appointed. Jill was professional and friendly and I found her a great host to work with. The kids didn't need to go to the snow park because they went right outside the door into the amazing sloped yard and played for hours! Win-win! Be advised if you're visiting during snow, their driveway is steep so 4x4 is recommended. We enjoyed our time there and would stay again!
