Our condo was in a nice neighborhood - quiet, friendly, well organized. The inside looked old, but refurbished nicely. However, some things were lacking: the heat lamps and fans in both bathrooms didn't work. There was an odd heater in one of the bathrooms. The steps up to the condo were uneven, and the snow grate at the front door was uneven, making footing difficult. The living room balcony has large gaps between wood planks which could be a problem. There weren't very many outlets for our electronics. Also, we never did figure out how to run the DVD and would have liked to watch some of the DVD's available in the condo.
The nice things were the furniture was nice and comfortable; the beds were comfortable (except for using flat sheets on the mattress instead of fitted which means the sheet always needs to be re-tucked in - it always seems to be a cheap way to cut costs), the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with towels, and the kitchen was well stocked. We used the washer and dryer once and they were effecient.
The one thing that disappointed us was actually not the condo, but the lack of activities in Shaver Lake. The lake is absolutely wonderful and beautiful. We swam and fished every day. The water was warm, and there are many places to swim. We also drove to surrounding lakes and forests. But in town there was not much besides very few places to eat, a couple markets, a sporting goods store. But no places to shop. That would have made our time there much nicer. If what you're looking for is simply peace and quiet, you will be happy!
