"We had booked a Grand Tower Horizon Club Premier Bund view room but when we arrived we were given a free upgrade to a suite room, which had a fantastic view of the Bund and the Oriental Pearl. The hotel has old world charm and feel very luxurious - we have stayed a several Shangri La Hotels and this was definitely one of the best. The room was quiet so it felt like a very peaceful haven - good for relaxing in after two weeks travelling around China. We didn't use any of the restaurants or facilities, but we did have access to the Horizon Lounge on the 29th floor. The lounge was great - very good service from the staff with good options for breakfast. We also went for Afternoon tea and they also had a good selection of food and drinks in the evening from 5:30-7:30pm. If we return to Shanghai, I would definitely stay at the Shangri-La Pudong again."

"An excellent location for venturing on foot to the Bund, the main strip, and the historic colonial centre of Shanghai, with tons of local eateries and stores. The hotel has great, modern, comfortable rooms, and it is well-priced. However, I travelled to Shanghai a few times about 10 years ago, and I was surprised by the low service levels and the English proficiency of the young staff at all the hotels I stayed in on this trip."
