Setubal Peninsula

Close to airport, no shuttle service provided. Great for late check in 11pm. Very nice breakfast.

We were forced to stay in a hotel that smelled strongly of cigarettes and whose fan and air conditioning were both broken. We asked for help, were told someone would come yo our room, then were left waiting for an hour and a half until we were told there was nothing they could do, but asked us to leave for an hour so they could run some kind of machine to try to mitigate the smell. I’m not sure they did anything- because we went back to the room two hours later only to have it smell the same. We left the patio door open and went to go get dinner, but then were informed that the restaurant and the pool were closing early for a private party. We asked if we could have another room, and were told no. They offered us two drink vouchers only. We went out to get dinner and came back to the fan and air conditioning not working again. We called for help again, and someone came up, agreed that it didn’t work, and then said there was nothing they could do because their maintenance person would have to deal with it the next day. So stuck for a very hot night in a disgusting smelling room to wake up with my eyes swollen from the gross air. Staff did nothing but shrug their shoulders and take our money. They should have just offered us a refund and let us go get another hotel. Or should have a manual fan or AC unit at least instead of having ZERO solutions. Terrible experience and terrible service.

The room was very noisy, the toilet made a strange noise at night that kept us awake. The hot water went off a couple of times. There was a remote for the tv but no tv, the ac wasn’t the best and I had to ask for the iron 3 times and when it turned up 45mins later it was a rubbish iron. The location was good, near a metro, we walked into the centre most days/night.
