Good breakfast but should have more vegetarian hot dishes.

We had no idea what to expect as we booked last minute without doing any research nor looking at pictures. Also the name, One & Only Desaru, is somewhat non-descript, it doesn't evoke much... This is a 5-star resort, an oasis secluded from the world, large luxurious villas, private beaches and all -- and also, I guess, from paparazzis! That kind of a place. Top, top, top. Will return for sure.

Really nice hotel with excellent facilities including dining swimming pool and gym. Rooms are very spacious and quiet with high quality finish bathrooms and bedroom

The service staff were excellent and I enjoyed my stay there. However I think the hotel needs to improve on sound proofing and air ventilation within the hotel. 1) We booked 2 rooms but they could not give us adjoined rooms, which was fine. However we had to share a connecting room with a stranger and they disturbed our peace by turning on the TV very loudly until 1.40am and switched it on again at 6am. In conclusion I think it is not ideal to let hotel guests who don't know each other share adjoined rooms. 2) When we entered the other room, it was filled with stale cigarette smell. Throughout the stay, we continued to smell the cigarette smoke, which likely came from the air con vents.

It’s showing its age. Nothing special. Outiets for tech are limited.
