Nestled in Jack's Canyon with postcard views on the porch, deck and every window, this cozy home nestled into the hill is off the beaten track from the noisy center of Sedona, yet minutes from Bell Rock, shopping & restaurants. The remote gorgeous and serene western getaway you've been hoping for. On clear nights, the best spot to count shooting stars, constellations and distant galaxies. Spot javelinas, wild quail & coyotes on the expansive back deck, red rock buttes from the front porch. The home feels remote and private. The large great room above includes a kitchen, dining room and living room with a sofa bed. Below are two private bedrooms with an entrance to the sandstone deck. The expansive back porch overlooking Jack's Canyon mesa is the best place for gathering and for serenity. The property now includes high speed Starlink internet, Guests can access all areas except two small closets used for supplies. Jack's Canyon is a quiet part of the Village of Oak Creek. Some say the canyon is named for the original homesteader of this area, Jack Speed. Others say it got its name from Jack Woods, a railroad engineer stationed out of Winslow AZ who use to graze sheep in this canyon in the 19th century. Javelina, coyotes, black-tailed jack rabbits, cottontails, gambels quail, raptors, tarantulas, scorpions, bobcats and snakes roam this valley. They don’t want to hurt you, don’t approach them and they won’t. The Village of Oak Creek (aka the VOC) has some wonderful eating spots. Our faves: Butterfly Burger, Cucina Rustica and the Colt 804 grill BBQ. Associated Grocery store is 5 minutes from the house as are great golf courses and excellent shopping. Rent bikes from Absolute Bikes in the VOC. Some local hotels offer day passes to enjoy their pools including the nearby Hilton Spa. Hiking in the area is unparalleled. You must visit Bell Rock, 10 minutes from the house. Sedona is a 20 minute drive and has a wealth of restaurants, hikes and other attractions. We are an hour to Flagstaff, 2 hours to Phoenix. Our family has owned this special home for four decades. It is managed by our friends Bill and Sandi who live nearby and take care of the home as if it were their own.
