The Gîte Perché (Perched Cottage) has been created in the renovated wing of a beautiful stone house, at the very top of the medieval village of Sauzet, in the Drôme Provençale region. The house has received the prestigious Heritage Foundation label. It stands next to the castle ruins and a 12th-century church, in a peaceful setting and just a 3-minute walk from the village shops (bakery, butcher, tobacconist, mini-market, pharmacy, etc.). Access is independent via a stone staircase and through a garden shared with the owners, where a table and chairs allow guests to enjoy the sunshine. The completely renovated accommodation can comfortably sleep 4 people. It includes: - on the first floor: the living room and a laundry/WC, with washing machine, clothesline and iron - upstairs, 2 bedrooms await you: a master bedroom (double bed 140x190cm), and a bedroom with 2 bunk beds (possibility of an extra bed). The bathroom is equipped with a large shower, a sink and a toilet. Towels and sheets are provided. The cottage is located at the very top of the village of Sauzet and overlooks a square where you can park, enjoy panoramic views of the Trois Becs and the Vercors (Mont Ventoux on a clear day), and let your children play. A beautiful wooded park with a children's playground and sports fields is also a 5-minute walk away. Numerous hiking and cycling trails start from Sauzet or nearby. You can easily explore the hilltop villages and tourist sites of the Drôme: Montélimar, Marsanne, Grignan, Crest, Dieulefit, Nyons… Avignon and Orange are 1 hour away, Valence 30 minutes, and the Ardèche river 45 minutes. The A7 motorway is 10 minutes away, and Montélimar train station is 15 minutes away. Marseille and Lyon Saint Exupéry airports are 1 hour 30 minutes away by motorway.
