"Beautiful and comfortable home. The listing was a little incomplete so it was unclear exactly what we were getting but pleasantly surprised. One very confusing experience is they never mentioned an actual couple lives on-site and are the hosts. They came by when we got there and were very kind and accommodating. It just would have been helpful to know they would be there. The listing said it was entirely self check-in. "

"Pros: A casa era mesmo muito boa e tudo funciona muito bem. 3 wcs completos 3 quartos fantásticos, uma sala grande como é necessário e boa tv e wi-fi. Sem muita decoração nem móveis a mais como se pretende numa casa de férias, tem tudo o q é preciso. A dona é super simpática e prestável, sempre disponível. "Very relaxing , quiet and zen hotel. Room was beautiful and food was great everywhere including the breakfast buffet. I think the best part of the hotel is the beach access (sun beds included in the price). The only thing is staff could provide higher quality service for the price - they provided conflicting information about the resort facilities at points and didn’t bend over backward to offer transportation to restaurants/spa across the highway; and you have to specifically request them to pick you up at your villa otherwise you have to walk 5-10 minutes to the front lobby to catch the shuttle. We also asked them to book a restaurant for us and they said they were working on it and just never gave us a call back. Also note that you must make restaurant reservations in advance of your stay. There are 2 different hotel locations so the restaurants and rooms/spa are spread out between the two and you need to take the shuttle to get across the highway to the other location."

"It is difficult to add much to all the other reviews, other than to say that they are absolutely right - this really is an idyllic place.The setting is wonderful, surrounded by beautiful Alentejo countryside, with amazing views and a sense of peace and tranquillity that is very special. The cottage itself is full of character, beautifully decorated with a very rustic feel. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet Cercal is close enough for shops, restaurants and anything else you might need, and there are some fantastic beaches within easy reach.We cannot speak highly enough of António. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming and gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit. The bottle of delicious Alentejo red wine waiting for us when we arrived was a lovely touch - as was the bowl of freshly hand-picked figs he gave us when we left!And a special mention for the outdoor shower - absolutely perfect after a hot day at the beach.We genuinely loved our stay here. A beautiful, peaceful and very special place that we would recommend without hesitation - and can't wait to return to."
