Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds

Clean, quiet and the staff was knowledgeable as well as pleasant.

This was an OK place for one night before our flight out of San Jose airport. I wouldn't want to stay here much longer, though. I'd give the staff members at the front desk 5-stars. They were all very friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable with soft sheets and the room was fine. Our room (212) was located right above the hot tub so we heard noise from people talking below. We could also hear neighbors through the walls and especially walking above us, which was bothersome. The breakfast was OK. It seemed produced for the masses and was not the healthiest of options but something to get most people started. I would have liked simple unsweetened half-and-half, instead of the flavored and sweetened "creamers" for coffee that were offered. We enjoyed a yummy BBQ dinner at The Smoking Pig down the street, although the walk back at night felt a little sketchy. The airport shuttle was great for us without a car. The drivers were very friendly. Although I appreciated the kind employees, I'm not sure I'd be excited to stay here again if I'm ever traveling through the San Jose airport because of the noise, unfortunately.
