Famous for its port facilities and shipyards, discover the unique maritime heritage of Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique! Located on the port of the city, the former submarine base invites you to immerse yourself in this special world. In the Escal'Atlantic International Cruise Ship Centre, visit the cabins, explore the engine room, the wheelhouse… Climb aboard the Swordfish submarine and dive into the world of the abyss or be amazed by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, the place where cruise ships are built. Rich in information, the eco-museum traces the history of the city and allows you to know a little more about its evolution over time. Above all, make a jump to the roof terrace of the underwater base to have a panoramic view of the entire port. And at sunset, what a spectacle of light!
Saint-Nazaire has a beautiful coastline: beaches, sheltered coves, headlands, cliffs, a preserved landscape not far from the city center. A little aside: the beach of Saint-Marc was made famous by Jacques Tati, who filmed the Vacances de monsieur Hulot. Connoisseurs of the film will easily recognize it. Also take your time and treat yourself to a pleasant walk on the coastal path or along the seafront to the lighthouse of Vieux Môle.
