We had a really enjoyable stay at this lovely villa, perfectly situated for exploring not only Rome but also some of the quieter, less crowded places beyond the ring road. Highlights included the beautiful Palazzo Farnese at Caprarola, swimming in Lakes Vico (my favourite) and Bracciano, and wandering around Ostia Antica – one of those places that leaves you wondering how you had never heard of it before. Maurizio recommended A Casa Mia, just ten minutes up the road, and we ended up eating there several times during our holiday, enjoying excellent Italian food while sitting outside a large villa with a fascinating interior. On other days, it was just as enjoyable to relax by the pool, unwind in the house, and cook in the well-equipped kitchen. It was exceptionally hot during our stay in July, so we were especially grateful for the air-conditioned bedrooms. Throughout our stay, whenever we needed advice or had a problem, Maurizio and Elena were always quick to help.We spent three wonderful weeks here and still wished we could have stayed longer.
