I really wanted to love this place but we won't be returning.
Whilst you're told you cross a farm to get to the lodge, you're actually situated on the farm. There is sheep that are right next to the Lodge, the kids loved seeing them but with that brought LOADS of flies... and i mean LOADS.
Altho the host does have a Bug lamp in the livingroom, there is not a chance you're getting away from them, you can't leave any food or drinks out. You can't have the windows or doors open as more come in, we were forever swatting flies or chasing them out. It became a nightmare even waking us up in the night.
The host really do try to make to stay as easy as possible, trays lined with foil was a lovely help after a busy day. There's all little things that you need like extra bin liners, w/up liquid. They really do go out of there way which was lovely.
But, for us, the place was definitely not 1 we want to come back to. You can see it once a beautiful place but it feels tired and shabby, the walls need attention and the carpets are really grubby, my grandson took his shoes off and they were black withing 20mins. The whole place needs a deep clean especially the carpets & sofas. The floor into the kitchen is not stuck down properly where it joins the carpet. The pictures also made it look alot bigger than what it was.
Outside the glass all around needs a good clean and the tables and chairs are all rusty. Its a shame as given some attention it's would be beautiful.
