The property is located in the lively Trastevere area which is great for restaurants and bars. The breakfast room was always fully stocked and the service great. The room was clean with a lovely balcony.
We really enjoyed our 1 night stay here. The service was top notch and the room was exceptionally clean with a great shower. The location was within walking distance of many major attractions. We would definitely stay here again!
Oxsana, the lady that prepared our breakfast was absolutely wonderful and it was a true pleasure to meet and get to know her. We had outings very early in the mornings and all 3 mornings she agreed to come in early to accomodate us❤️❤️. She made our stay very special. Please thank her again on our behalf. You are very fortunate to have her as part of your staff.
Perfekt location with lot of good restaurants, friendly staff and always helpfull with anything we needed. Nice rooms with balcony and good space for two persons. We would be happy to go back to Top Floor Trastevere
Top Floor Trastevere is a prime location! In addition, the owner was very thorough with instructions for check-in, the breakfast was delicious, the room was quiet and clean, and Oksana was friendly and helpful!
Top Floor Trastevere is right in the middle of the Trastevere district of Rome, and completely walkable with shops, restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, historical sites, buses, everything one can imagine. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and wow, what a view. Edwardo or a staff member were available 24/7, free breakfast in the mornings and helpful with any questions or information needed. Safe, secure, quiet and right in the heart of everything. We will be back. I give this place 5 stars.
The accommodation was a perfect base for a first visit to Rome. We we well located with lots of key sights in easy walking distance and tram and bus routes just across the street. The room was kept organized and immaculately clean each day by our lovely staff Oxana. Additionally she was available each morning to provide a great breakfast and wonderful coffee and she even prepared a pot to help us start the day off on our departure day when we were leaving very early. I would definitely recommend Top Floor Trastevere for its style and hospitality fantastic location and caring staff!!!
If you are looking for a full service hotel this isn’t it. However, if you are looking for a clean, pleasant place to stay with minimum frill at a reasonable price, this is your place. Add to this that you are within 30-40 minuites walking distance from almost all the tourist sites in Rome. The Trastevere area is much less crowded and you can just walk around and find lots of shops and eating establishments. Edwardo and his assistant, Oda provide lots of guidance as well. Be sure and close all the doors on the elevator.
It was my first time in Rome and I had a blast! Trastevere was recommended by many friends and it was very convenient to walk or transit to main tourist areas from this property.
The staff was very nice and the directions for check-in were quite clear. I wasn’t expecting to receive instructions over WhatsApp, but I had internet so it wasn’t a problem.
A couple things I noted:
- I could hear people in the next room and the hallway, but it was pretty muted. Just enough to know people are around.
- The safe in the room was unfortunately not bolted or attached to anything. It doesn’t provide much security because it’s so small and light, you could just take the whole thing. Thankfully the building felt secure, but this would be easy to fix for the property.
Overall I was very happy with my stay and highly recommend Top Floor Trastevere.
Clean room, comfy beds, wonderful breakfast staff, host is helpful. Insulated windows help with road noise. Note: At the time we booked the listing said there was laundry on site but there isn’t. Would stay here again.
Perfect location for exploring the many restaurants and cafes in the lively Trastevere neighborhood. It is walkable to many monuments, a flea market, pharmacy, bodega, and public transportation is very easy. Eduardo the owner was very responsive, and helped us with an unexpected additional day needed. Oksana is there every morning to make breakfast and she made us custom espresso, which was a lovely treat. She was very helpful and friendly, and keeps the property very clean. Rooms are quiet at night thanks to double paned windows and roll-down blackout shutters (can adjust to any degree of darkness you want). Comfy beds, a nice balcony that overlooks the street, and water in the shower was always hot. A portable fan kept it cool at night. It is on the top floor and there is an elevator that you access by going up a few stairs. If you need to exchange money, do it at the train station for the best rates. No banks that I checked with exchange money, and the closest place that will was close to an hour walk round trip (with pretty terrible rates). Eduardo has great recommendations for restaurants and other tips, and every place we tried was excellent. The best carbonara was at Eggs, and tiramisu made in front of you with multiple options was at Il Tiramisu Marius. The weekend flea market had many vintage clothing finds. We would definitely stay again!
Trastevere is a very busy area , lots of restaurants lots of life , hotel near bus stops however we walked everywhere.
Did not spend a lot of time in the room , was fine for what we needed ,
Breakfast was continental,
Tea and coffee in room but no milk , shops nearby.
Balcony was nice but very very busy road .
The room was clean and updated, bathroom was nice. Our room shared a wall with the front desk area and the walls in the unit was really thin. We checked in and then listened to the person at the front desk watching shows on his phone for the next hour- you could hear everything easily. When other guests came back we could hear everything they did, including someone's son coughing all night. Location was good, place was clean, manager was nice, but the thin walls and bed only 10" off the floor were a big turn off. We were charged $272 for the night, and found it for $151 after we checked in on google.
The breakfast is continental style. The rooms are tight was nice to have the balcony. Elevator could be tricky at times. Irene who served breakfast and cleaned rooms was absolutely the best.

Location was good but not the best hotel room overall
A safe and pleasant place to stay in the heart of Trastevere (IMO best place in Rome for aperitivi, dinner, drinks...)
The hosts were very helpful, breakfast was plentiful
It's on a main road so the sirens can be noisy during sleep time
I don’t ever leave bad reviews because I don’t want to hurt people’s ratings but I genuinely had a bad experience this time and I am so sad to have to leave this.
The original plan was for 3 people to come but my brother ended up coming last minute and since the room has 2 beds I didn’t see a problem with us 4 staying there. The next morning after check in, the owner called me on Whatsapp and started yelling at me and being super disrespectful threatening to call the police on us if 2 of us didn’t leave to stay somewhere else. I explained to him that we had 2 kids with us and that we would have to go somewhere else if we couldn’t all stay together. He did not give us any other options or a solution he basically just told us if we don’t get 2 people out of the room that he will call the cops on us. I paid $1,065 for 4 nights and this was barely my 1st morning here. I understand if there’s a law where you can’t have a certain amount of people in a place but I just thinks that he could have been way more professional about it and kindly explained to me and helped us find a solution instead of calling me and yelling at me treating me like I was an idiot. I asked him if we leave that if we could have at least part of our money back and he said no. Super sad that we had to experience this in my families 1st time in rome. We had to spend another $700 on the other hotel that we had to move to.
