Thoroughly enjoyed the two big windows in our room that allowed us to soak in the views of the river. Even though it was not cold enough for the fireplace, we did have it on for a bit to take i. The whole experience of the clean and tidy room. Miguel provided exceptional attention to our needs! Looking to rebook for our anniversary.

Fabulous place. Had an amazing stay. The Inn Keepers were great, breakfast was tasty and the view was gorgeous!! Definitely plan on coming back in the Spring.

A hidden jewel

What an amazing hotel! The location is perfect, the owners so so friendly. The staff so efficient and professional. The breakfast was the best. Definitely a 5 star hotel.

Excellent place to stay. Beautiful environment, nicely decorated and kept. Very good breakfast. Owners (husband and wife) are extremely helpful and very interesting individuals. I had a very enjoyable one night stay and will return.

Wonderful views of the water! Welcoming, interesting hosts and carefully appointed room. Open spaces decorated with fascinating art pieces. Very good breakfast! Only 2 hrs from DC with pastoral ride past historic sites.

The inn was wonderful. The three-course breakfast was the best that I've ever had at any hotel. The owner was very friendly and talked us about their experience around the world. Every room in the hotel is decorated with beautiful paintings and artworks from all over the world. The garden is peaceful and beautiful. We had a great experience.

Everything about the Swanendele Inn was exceptional: the location, the accommodations, the facilities, the decor, the hosts, and, not least, the breakfast. In fact, you could spend several days just exploring the remarkable antiques and artifacts around the place. However, what made the strongest impression was the fiery glow of dawn though the pine trees outside our balcony every morning in the Margeret Brent suite. Rhododaktylos, "The rosy-fingered dawn": I never understood the true meaning of that phrase until I saw that.

Wonderful B&B to stay when visiting SMCM

We loved the house and grounds. On the water. Beautiful view of the sunrise out our bedroom window. Innkeepers are world travelers and have many stories to share. We’ll have to go back to hear some more. 10-15 minute drive from SMCM. Wonderful alternative to the Fairfield, Home2 and Comfort Inn.

Loved our stay at the Swanendale Inn

We had the best time at the Swanendele Inn! More like a bed a breakfast, we so enjoyed meeting the owners Gerry and Vicki who treated us like family. The property is very large and the rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Super soft towels, comfortable bed, large balcony, super hot shower with tons of water pressure and central air conditioning! We really enjoyed breakfast which is served in a breakfast room overlooking the water with made to order eggs, homemade cinnamon and apple cake, fresh fruit and delicious coffee and juice. This area of Southern Maryland has some great new restaurants, tons of fishing options and St. Mary’s College is about 8 minutes away. The area around the Inn was so lush and beautiful, there is also a gorgeous public park with tennis courts and basketball courts less than 8 minutes away. We fell in love with the Swanendale Inn and the area and can’t wait to come back. Splurge on the larger rooms, we loved the Lord Calvert which has a jacuzzi tub for two. So nice to have an elevator too. The rooms look just like the pictures.
