"clean, quiet and comfortable"

"Desert Rose was an ideal stop between Colorado and Arizona. The property presents well from the exterior with some construction alongside. Front desk staff were welcoming and answered questions. No direction or information on amenities was offered. Room was on the upper floor as requested - elevators are not available. Room was clean and well provisioned. Furniture is very old with most of the finishing either rubbed or peeled off. A simple refinishing or oiling would do well to preserve this classical furniture. Bed was newer and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and towels were plenty. Dinner at Duke's was very good; fillet prepared to exact temperature. Dessert menu sounded good with some made in house, but was not enjoyed. Staff were all excellent and appropriately friendly. The breakfast room is huge! The buffet is standard hotel breakfast and not always appealing. With so few guests, fresher eggs would have been lovely - only two eating meat the kitchen could have the eggs freshly prepared. Freshly made waffles were also available. Parking is sufficient and access off the highway was easy. The location provided an opportunity for an after dinner walk around "the neighborhood" and across the main road with caution. Certainly not budget friendly, with a few extra touches this could bring the property to a good level. "

"The door had air cracks around it and the deadbolt did not lock. I didn't feel unsafe because it's such a small rural area, but I'm glad I wasn't alone. Parking is great - 20 feet from our room. It wasn't necessary to use the heat or the A/C so I'm not sure if they work well."

"It didn’t look like much from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the inside. Very nice!"

"We always stop at the willow street cottages on our annual trip to Arizona. Andi the property manager always makes sure we are all set for arrival and is very helpful. The place is clean, quiet, and very peaceful. We feel right at home with our family (kids & dogs)"

"There was only one washer and dryer for the entire hotel. Dryer was slow to dry requiring several rounds. There was a line up to use. Could have been better. Pricing was high comparatively."

"We spent 3 nights at this very special property and loved it. We enjoyed the solitude of the property, cooking in the outdoor kitchen and exploring via e-bike. We also really enjoyed venturing out into the surrounding area - lots to see and do without dealing with crowds. The property is well outfitted for comfort and cooking great meals. Communicating with our host was clear and easy. We would happily come back again!"

"Peaceful, magical home (both inside and out) -- surrounded by gorgeous canyon cliffs. Kathryn (Kate) was an attentive host, and we felt so well taken care of. The dark night sky was amazing -- full of endless stars. The home was super comfy! We highly recommend staying here."
