We’ve been on a holiday touring Ireland, and it was a fantastic experience—wonderful people and high-quality hotels. That is, until we arrived at the Clayton Hotel Dublin. It is an overpriced hotel of mediocre quality. Automated check-in didn't work, there was a very long queue for check-in, everything smelled of chlorine, there was no air conditioning, the room was extremely hot, and there was no fridge. The other hotels we stayed at had ice machines, but there wasn't one here. It is also located so far from the airport that you might as well stay at a nice hotel in Dublin, such as The Marlin. It took us 24 minutes by bus from Dublin city center to the airport, plus a taxi ride from there to the hotel. It took 12 minutes by bus from the hotel to the airport; it would have been easier, cheaper, and faster to simply take a bus from Dublin directly to the airport. We chose to eat at The Italian Kitchen; unfortunately, no one in that kitchen has ever been to Italy. The food was very poor, and since there are few alternatives, it was also extremely expensive for such low-quality fare. The staff were rude and clearly unhappy in their jobs. This was actually the most expensive dinner we had in Ireland, and unfortunately also the worst experience in terms of both service and food. We regret not spending our last night in Dublin and preserving the fantastic experience we’d had in Ireland, Rather than having it end this way.

This is a nice hotel to stay at, Our room was very clean and customer service is excellent! Parking is right below and very convenient.

Great and classic hotel in a convenient location to major Dublin attractions and the tram. The only downside is it can be noisy at night, especially if it’s warm and you need to sleep with the windows open, as it was when we were there. That is no fault of the hotel, however. Staff were helpful, and housekeeping kept our room clean and tidy. The breakfast is excellent. Take advantage of the discount by paying for your meal the night before. We are a family of four with young children and it was perfect.

My room has some dust and even I put the containers of the tissues on top of the sink the person that cleans the room just put it down and no taking off the dust. It is a very small room but we managed. The staff was the best thing. They were helpful specially the man who help us get a Taxi to the airport on a very early check out.
