We absolutely loved our time at Kiskadee Casa and would highly recommend it! We stayed three nights and during that time saw lots of wildlife from the patios and pool deck. We saw 20 squirrel monkeys, 5 white-throated capuchin monkeys, 8 scarlet macaws, 3 toucans, 3 hummingbirds, 2 gladiator tree frogs, 1 agouti, 1 laughing falcon, 1 green and black dart frog as well as several geckos and blue morpho butterflies. In addition to seeing all this wildlife, we also heard howler monkeys and many other beautiful birdsongs from toucans, greenlets, doves, wrens, antbirds, flycatchers, and of course, kiskadees! We used a bird calling app to identify the birdsongs. Monkey prime time is between 3-5 pm. We didn’t end up visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, but I suppose if you wanted to see sloths, that would be the one animal that you are more likely to see there than at Kiskadee Casa. If you're lucky, you may meet the landscaper Patricia who is really passionate about her work and may point out the many different types of trees on the property including papaya, breadfruit, pineapple, coffee, and cacao. The road up to this house was quite steep. We did rent an SUV which was helpful, but not necessary. Because the setting was so high, you are up amongst the treetops, making this home feel like a treehouse. If you are fortunate enough to find plan a trip to Manuel Antonio, and Kiskadee Casa is available, book it before somebody else does.
