Housing Estate on Site of Powick Mental Hospital. The Worcestershire County Asylum opened here in 1852. Edward Elgar was appointed bandmaster in 1878. It was famous for using LSD on patients in the 1960s. I had Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) here for severe clinical depression in 1974. It closed in 1996.

Staff were great. Room was a little small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked to order. Evening menu is a little pricey. I didn't realise there was a gym, as it isn't advertised on the website. Would have been good to know.
