"Overall, my stay had a lot of positives. The building itself is beautiful and full of character. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly. My room was large, spacious, and nicely renovated. Although the room was in the basement, it really didn’t feel like it because there were several large, low windows that brought in lots of natural light. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the room. As soon as I arrived, I noticed a strong smell of sweat. When I looked at the bedding, every pillowcase and the sheets had dog hair on them. It made me question whether the sheets had been changed, or if they had been washed with with excessive dog hair and a lot of it remained stuck to the bedding. There were also visible stains on the sheets. In addition, the actual pillows themselves seemed like they needed to be washed because they had an unpleasant sweat odour. Because of this, I ended up sleeping in my clothes on top of the bed. I'm also not the type of person to call the front desk and cause a scene over issues, while I was definitely unhappy with the condition of the bedding, I tend to just make do with what I’m given and carry on. That said, this hotel really does have a lot going for it. With more attention to housekeeping details, this place could easily be an excellent stay. The hotel should also reconsider allowing pets in their establishment. It truly feels like a hotel with a lot of potential, and just needs some fine-tuning."

"While our initial reaction was surprise as this is a large bedroom in what looks to be a remodeled rooming house in the downtown core, we soon were won over by the clean bright room. There is a keurig, a small microwave and fridge so you will most likely have to go out to eat. The location is fantastic. There is a casino a few steps away and the have good , reasonably priced food that you can order long after everything else is closed. They have a 5.00 breakfast that is amazing, served every day. There are specials every night including a full steak dinner for under twenty bucks on Saturday. The room was clean and comfortable and the other tenants were very quiet. Any street noises weren’t enough to bother us. Parking was initially a challenge as street parking is strictly regulated, but the parkade a couple of blocks away provided ample and cheap parking (5.00/stay). We were close to the airport, hospital and the university. Unfortunately, it was cold and snowy so we couldn’t take advantage of the room’s proximity to the waterfront and shops. If you are in town for an event, this is a great place to stay and we would stay again in the future. "

"This was repeat stay and my 2nd experience with vrbo. The unit was everything we needed as a small family or just us two. Laundry onsite, tv with apps available, two bedrooms, kitchen with dishwasher!!. The rainfall shower was my favorite and the host was always helpful when i needed. Will definitely stay here when travelling to Thunder Bay. Thanks Robyn "
