"I stayed here one night when we were doing WWI battlefield tours. This was a wonderful find. So much world war one memorabilia. The rooms were simple but comfortable. Shared bathrooms were clean and quite private. The grounds and the home are just beautiful. Very much in keeping with the theme of our trip. Highly recommend it. "

"Aux Herbes Hautes is located in a beautiful place, just by the bord of Pas-de-Calais, but not far from Lille and some of the busy parts of the Nord department of France. The owner keeps a pristine apartment comprising a small kitchen, sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor, with a king bed and bath on the first floor. "We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived even though the owners had not realized we had booked. They did their best to get the room ready quickly. They provided us with an evening meal and a complimentary drink. The guesthouse is lovely and very freshly modern. Breakfast was great and had a lovely selection of foods. The room was very warm, however, even with windows open. Noise from the road traffic may put off light sleepers but this is not the fault of the owners."
