Sheraton La Jolla Hotel

"The hotel is clean, has good sized rooms. Helpful staff and some good gardens and facilities. The bar is good but the food isn’t so good. The dinner was stale, possibly the humus help too long so was quite gassy. The burger was ok but a little overdone. The breakfast was a pricey for what it is. The a-la-carte at the deli was simply too pricey; a croissant for $10 and a coffee $8! The breakfast buffet options were a bit weird. One was a lite breakfast that didn’t say what it was and the other was a club breakfast which was at the other end of the property which wasn’t clear either as to what you get for it.. apart from the description that says you can have some rarly evening drinks too as part of it( not ideal if you’re wanting to see the city and be out at that time. It would have been better that they just had the option of an included buffet breakfast in the room rate and be done with it! However, there are ample breakfast options just a 5 min walk from the hotel in the adjacent retail park. The car parking too was a bit dear at $30 per night."

"If this hotel was budget-friendly I would give it 5 stars. (Still probably got a deal for the general area & time of year) Staff are very kind & helpful. Mike was very professional& polite; above average customer service for sure. Saul was warm & welcoming and went above & beyond to deliver excellent customer service. The only reason for things being just slightly different than expected: it’s a nice hotel & I bet the ambiance is amazing when they have the fire pit out front & fireplace going; but walking into my room (which was a nice room), noticed a musty smell. Asked if something could be sprayed in the room & he was right, it worked very well but next morning after going out & coming back in, I smelled it faintly again (may want to check filters in the air unit). 2. When I grabbed the hair dryer out of the bag to use; it was dirty & slightly sticky, w hair stuck to it. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay. They charge $10 for parking (not sure if that is per night or per stay, only stayed 1 night); was surprised bc it is nowhere near downtown San Diego, have never encountered that outside of downtown areas and there was ample parking all around. The jets work well in the hot tub, and for safety concerns: you need to use your active key to get in after hours or to go up the elevator"

"The furniture in the room was worn down the $46 for parking after you already paid for room is crazy … guest should get free parking with room key in my opinion … also while using the pool there where no towels available for guests for a good while overall it was ok the service in the front desk was good made check in and out a breeze"

"The room looked to be recently remodeled which was nice. The bed slept well however the pillows where terrible much like small bean bags. There was a police chase that ended in the parking lot with a gun stand off. No fault of the property just maybe being located right off the freeway or maybe it's a common California thing."
