Moonshine Cottage - Time to GOLF!

Located less than one mile from the gate of the famous Pinehurst No. 2 Golf Course, this 100-year old cottage has been gracefully updated to be a comfortable and relaxing modern-day get-away. Moonshine Cottage is surprisingly roomy inside, sleeping up to 6, and offers both a front porch for relaxing in the shade and a back deck for catching a few rays of sunshine. The back yard is surrounded by mature trees and lush, privacy-ensuring growth. Well behaved pets are always welcome.

Moonshine Cottage is in the heart of Pinehurst Village and within walking distance to 15 different restaurants/pubs. Tucked away on a quiet side street, the cottage is fully furnished and includes all kitchen wares, linens, towels and other necessities. The décor is comfortable and relaxed.

A short drive away is the town of Southern Pines with its charming shops and the historic Sunrise Theater. Both Pinehurst and Southern pines are home to esteemed equestrian communities with rigorous event seasons. Enjoy a day at the Pinehurst Harness track, or time your visit to include the Stoneybrook Steeplechase. Also, both Pinehurst and Southern Pines offer large fitness centers: The First Health Center in Pinehurst, and Gold’s Gym in Southern Pines. In addition, each town supports a labyrinth of fitness greenways that spider out from beautiful public parks.

Moore County is home to over 25 golf courses. The Pinehurst courses have played host to the US Open, the Ryder Cup Championship, the U.S. Amateur, and the PGA Championship. In 2014, Moore County will again host the U.S Open--both of them. Within the same month, Pinehurst No.2 and Pine Needles Resort will enjoy the men’s and women’s U.S. Opens successively. Almost all of the area courses are listed among the top 100 courses in North Carolina. Four of the courses are listed among the top ten golf experiences in North Carolina. Pinehurst No.2 and Pine Needles are regarded as among the best courses the United States has to offer. Numerous classes and golf training camps are available at these area resorts.

Absolutely perfect!

This cottage was the perfect off resort accommodations in pinehurst. Quick 5 min drive for groceries, pinehurst village, restaurants. Yet secluded enough to make it a nice peaceful getaway. And yes, there are tons of deer that live near/on the property. Would definitely book this cottage again if going to pinehurst.

My family & I had a wonderful weekend stay here. We had everything we needed, and the house was in a great location to downtown. It is within walking distance of a park and multiple trails. Overall a great stay.

Location

The location of the sweet little house is perfect. It is on a dead end street but also is close enough to walk to many restaurants and parks. It was fully stocked with any cooking item you would need. We had a wonderful Christmas stay.

Quiet stay in Pinehurst

Just what we needed for the US Open Golf tournament. It was close enough to walk in town yet a little secluded. It had everything we needed for a short stay.

Nice, clean house

The house was perfect for our stay. We were in Pinehurst for a wedding and it was in an ideal location for the wedding venue as well as for the golfing we did during our time there.

Perfect golf getaway

Loved our stay at the moonshine cottage. Super clean, and lots of room. Very close to the village and Pinehurst brewing company. Easy to navigate to any stores or golf courses in the area. The family of deer in the yard everyday was a nice treat as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute cottage on a quiet street, ideal location to walk to the village and/or the brewery. Rooms are spacious, kitchen and living room are cozy. This is my 4th time staying between the two cottages and I would not stay anywhere else!

A Quieter Pinehurst

This is our second stay at this property. We love the location away from the resort properties, and the condition of the home. It feels like our own place - which is something you can’t get at a motel. See ya again soon.

Nice older home in great location

We enjoyed our stay. Home is in a quiet location yet walkable to Pinehurst restaurants and Pinehurst Resort. Older home yet in good shape with lots of room. Kitchen well equipped and appliances in working order. We saw deer most days. Great spot for a dog. You can sit on either front or rear porch. I recommend this home.

Great little place!

This is great little place. It was perfect for my husband, me and our dog. Roomy. King bed was super comfy. Walking distance to Maxie's, Village Cafe and the Pinehurst Brewing co. If you don't mind walking, you can walk to the downtown area which is just over half mile. Kim and Roy were easy to get ahold of and super nice. Would recommend this place for sure!

Great Thanksgiving weekend!!

We had a fabulous time! The house sits right on the edge of the village. It was walking distance to a lot of places. The beds are super comfortable and the place was immaculate!! We cooked in the last night and had steaks on the grill. The table can fit six comfortably, No problem. Thanks again and we look forward to visiting again.

Cottage was Great

Cottage was in good condition and very clean. We did not like the toaster and did not use the barbeque. Everything else was very good. Lots of dishes pots and pans. The location was perfect for our needs. Close to everything and easy access to Pinehurst and Southern Pines. Pinehurst is one of our favourite places to visit. I recommend this cottage.

Old friend

This was the fourth year we’ve stayed in this house. It’s not fancy but it’s clean, has a washer and dryer, and is in a very quiet little area that is oh so close to the Pinehurst Resort, where we play in croquet tournaments. It is also close to restaurants, downtown Pinehurst, and Lowe’s. There are fancier homes, but we’d come back again. 👍

Pinehurst Golf

3 guys down to visit and play golf with a friend. The home was clean and spacious. One bedroom for each. Air conditioning worked well. We did not take advantage of all the amenities such as the kitchen and back deck/ BBQ. You can walk to the Village from the home and the Pinehurst courses are all very close. All 3 of us were happy with our experience.
