Definitely pay the extra to to the Wildlife Alliance behind the scenes tour. Feeding and then walking through the forest with Lucky the Elephant was the highlight of my entire trip.

I stayed the night and it was lovely. Staff were very kind and friendly. It's a budget guest house not a 5 star hotel, thus the accommodation is not bad for the price. Particularly, if you're looking for an overnight stay before onwarding to your next destination. The room I stayed in was huge and comfortable. I had two king size beds all to myself. Bedframes were a little dusty but overall cleanliness was acceptable.
A fresh paint could make their rooms more enticing. It is situated on the quiet part of the airport and it can be difficult to access nearby amenities and restaurants by foot. So be prepared for that. TUKTUKS are cheap, fast and easy. Use it.
