After being in Sesame Place for about 6 hours, and spending 2 hours in the hotel pool, my family & I headed to our room to shower & go to bed. Unfortunately, when we pulled the shower curtain back, we discovered that the tub was dirty.
I called the front desk to ask that it be cleaned. The representative’s immediate response was ‘we don’t clean rooms everyday’. So, the room I was checked in to was dirty? He went on to tell me that no one from housekeeping was there so to basically deal with it. I asked him if he could move us to another room that was actually clean & he told me he would have to call me back.
Finding this unacceptable, I went downstairs to speak with him in person. Not at the desk when I arrived, he came from the back office, eating something & speaking to me with a mouth full of food so, I couldn’t understand what he was saying. Once he finished chewing his food, he told me he called housekeeping to see if my room had been cleaned and was waiting to hear back from that person. That he ‘already had another room’ for me but he was just waiting to hear back from housekeeping.
‘I’m sorry about that, let me get you a new room while I look into why the tub wasn’t clean’ should have been his immediate response. I didn’t need to know anything else. I ultimately changed rooms but the effort I had to put in just to get a clean tub was completely unnecessary.
Proximity to Sesame Place makes this place ideal but a clean room is just as important.
