Quiet and relaxing
Great location for our destination wedding nearby. Spacious home with a nice sunroom. Loved how you felt away from it all yet were very close to groceries, shops and restaurants.

College graduation getaway
The perfect property for our family to gather and celebrate our daughter's graduation from Keene State College. Plenty of space for eleven of us and our dog loved seeng all the animals next door! It is also close to restaurants and stores and the college was only 25 minutes away. Wayne was the ultimate host!

Just right for a large family
We were looking for a somewhat rural place for lots of family members could have their own quarters. This place fulfilled it all. Close to everything and yet it felt remote. Easy place to relax. Just what we wanted.

Thrushwood
We had a delightful four-night Thanksgiving stay at this lovely, spacious home. There was plenty of room for cooking and eating as well as for finding a nook for a quiet conversation. The grounds are wide open, and my grandson loved going around the circular driveway on his scooter!

Christmas in New Hampshire
The Peterborough house is perfect for our family holiday. Because our grandchildren are in college or still in High School, the only time everyone is free to be together is Christmas week and we've rented the house three years running. It's a nicely furnished, comfortable, well-maintained house, with an excellent kitchen and views from its glassed-in porch. It sits amid trees, next to a farm (with ponies and other animals) and is also a stone's throw from the Peterborough Shaw's and from restaurants. We have been so lucky to have found the house. Wayne is a fine host and a very helpful one. The driveway is plowed (this year there was quite a bit of snow) and sand is available at the front door if needed. We'll be back!

Peaceful retreat
This was the perfect location for our family to experience a peaceful retreat! Scenic location with mountain view. Lots of room to gather around the dining table or lounge on the porch. Sleeping quarters and bathrooms were clean and very comfortable. Again plenty of room. Lots of fun and family memories were made. We went to Peterborough Basket factory and picked up a local handmade basket. Thank you for hosting us!!

Great house!

Colonial Charms and Challenges
We had a group of 8 who stayed at this home for a week while we attended a convention and series of meetings. The home layout was as described in the listing and functioned well for a group of our size, with adequate beds, bathrooms and privacy for everyone. Others have made comments about the musty odor in the sunroom. This was quite noticeable and a significant inconvenience for us. Another consideration is that with the age of the home the plumbing and electrical systems are a bit inconvenient and don't function as well as we are used to in the modern day. Internet service worked well for our needs. The home is quaint and the property is very private. The outside deck was lovely during the sunny and warm morning hours! The owner was very courteous and communicative. He quickly and generously responded to our questions. If the odor in the sunroom were remedied and a few plumbing quirks were resolved we would stay here again.

Grandmother’s house in the country
Large lovely home in the country with lots of space & beautiful setting. Everything we needed for a special graduation time! Just needs to be aired out when you first arrive, but not a big deal. Very well equipped. We had a great time & loved the house!

Wonderful house for a large gathering such as ours.
Wonderfully quiet house that was able to allow us all to spread out when we needed time to ourselves. Large enough to have places for everyone to eat the main meal of the day and lots of outside area for a kids to run around in. There is poison ivy in the near woods and we were able to keep the kids out of it! The house was more than anyone thought we'd be able to get. I can't thank Wayne enough with my need to change dates. Memorable time for our family reunion.

Old Dublin Road, Peterborough
Our family (4 adults and 1 three-year-old) had a wonderful stay at the house on Old Dublin Road. The house has five bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. We gathered in the kitchen, living room and sun porch. We explored the spacious yard, watched the sunrise and moon rise and marveled at the stars. The home is very comfortable for a family get-together.

Family Christmas
Because of the pandemic, it's been two years since we've all been together--and the last time was also in this house. It's big, it's comfortable, it's within walking distance to the center of town and to shops and restaurants. But it's also nestled among trees and fields, so you really feel that you're in the country. The wifi works, the refrigerator delivers ice and water. The driveway had been plowed before we arrived, but there was also lots of ice-melt and a shovel when they were needed.

Great House and very pleasant stay!
We thought the house was great. Minor problems with a farm house of this age. Some rooms were somewhat musty from being closed up and one tub did not drain especially well. We slept very well, but a rooster next door usually started his day between 4:30 and 5:00am and wanted everyone to join him. More fans and the white noise they would provide would have solved this. Most of the bedrooms had fans. One or two did not. The Kitchen and the Sunroom facing Pack Monadnock were high points of this house for us and we spent some very pleasant time in both. Generally a very enjoyable stay in the heart of Monadnock Country.

Wonderful getaway
The house is wonderful and humongous. It served all our purposes. We got together with our kids and enjoyed the warmth of the kitchen. Ate in the formal dining room which is a beautiful round table. The place is old world charm with modern takes. Loved the furniture. The antiquities. Just charming. The sunroom was phenomenal as well as the deck. Each room was spacious and it literally has 2 masters. We really hope to go back.

We've now stayed three times in this beautiful home. I personally love the location but I am from the area ;) and have family and friends near by. Regardless there is lots to do and we love being so close to downtown! Nonie's for breakfast is fun and the Toadstool bookshop is also a favorite.

Great property and Location
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean and beds were comfortable. The house had plenty of room for us all to spread out. The screened in porch and sun rooms were lovely for coffee in the mornings. A quiet and beautiful view of the garden and neighboring horses in the pasture. Would highly recommend!

Great place for a family gathering!
Our extended family of 6 adults and 5 children stayed here for a week. The house was large enough and well laid-out for our large group. The kids, ranging in age from 3-8, loved the outside area. The large sun porch was a comfortable place for all of us to gather.

A great return visit
This was our second time at this property. The house was great to host our family for 12 person gathering. It was nice to see family now that Covid numbers are lower. The kitchen is so well stocked everything you would need (except maybe an ice cream scoop ;) The AC is a super nice bonus for an old farm house. My kids love being in the large home an exploring and playing hide-n-seek. My only concern was the added (new this year) ship in the glass case on the back sunroom. We ended up taking it off the rickety sand so our kids wouldn't knock it over. They loved looking at it up close so being on the floor was better and safer for us. There was also a lot of tiny ants this time but we just bought some traps at the local CVS (2 minutes away) and took care of them ourselves. Didn't seem worth bothering the owners. We're already scheduled to go back in 4 weeks for visit #3!

Relaxing family getaway
Our family spent a week here over the Christmas holiday. There were 11 of us, spanning 3 generations. The house was clean, well stocked, and expansive. The views from the sunroom were beautiful, from sunrise, to snow showers, and then the full moon at night. The village of Peterborough was delightful. We took daily hikes through the woods and mountains. Everyone fell in love with the area as well as the character of the house. We hope to come back again.

Large old coubtry home on a large property
Nine family members gathered at the Thrushwood Estate over the weekend of my daughter's wedding in Dublin. It was a beautiful way to enjoy the fall foliage and a milestone event as a family. The house is comfortable and spacious, with everything we needed. One of the full bathrooms has no shower, which we weren't expecting. There is a horse paddock to the side of the property, and my grandson loved seeing and petting the horses. We would recommend this home.

Gracious New England Charmer!
This well provisioned, classic New England home epitomized comfort, charm and warmth. The home is accurately represented, and is situated on a picturesque setting with engaging views in every direction. Four adults and two children enjoyed this home for a long weekend, with plenty of space to spare. Home was clean, and well organized, and communication with the owner was handled with ease and efficiency. Highly recommend!

A great country home
My Husband and two children (13 months and 3 years) stayed in this home. We chose it b/c of close proximity to family. We loved the stay. The house was really clean and other than the kitchen there wasn't anything that our kids could really get into and mess around with. The house was also large enough to host my family for several dinners. We grilled out most nights. Lots of local hikes to explore durning this time of covid. We loved and and will be back.

Lovely Home on Outskirts of Quaint Village
Since we are “working from home,” we decided to work from someone else’s home for a change of scenery and chose this one in Peterborough. It allows dogs (big plus, since they had to come with us), and the house is quite nice and on a beautiful lot with a view of Pack Monadnock. It has plenty of rooms for multiple adults to set up individual office spaces. WiFi is a bit slow for Zoom/video conferencing but fine for regular computer use (frankly, a great excuse to bow out of video). The yard is quite big - city/suburban dogs will be curious about the horses and goats next door. Note there’s no fence so there can’t be unsupervised exploring. Favorite aspects of the property were the sunroom during the day and eating dinner on the back deck watching the stars come out. Very clean and well-maintained.

Great Family Christmas
The house was perfect for our Christmas. It's really nicely furnished and wonderfully clean and comfortable Tables for games and puzzles, cozy chairs and sofas, a fine, well-appointed kitchen and bedrooms and baths for everyone. Its locations is particularly choice: our walkers could take a short hike to Shaws or Dunkin Donuts, but the house is nestled in among trees, with deer-tracks dotting the snowy lawn each morning. I can't imagine a better place for a family vacation.

Our Amazing Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend
This was the best Thanksgiving holiday weekend! My siblings and their families were so comfortable and had an amazing time! Your home was so warm and welcoming. The appliances were great! The kids loved running around playing football, tag and “ Green Ghost.” Most of all my mom was so thrilled we could all be together to celebrate this special holiday with her. All 12 of us enjoyed the house!
We stayed for our daughter's wedding in the next town. We had 12 staying with us and the house is so big that we could all find a quiet place. And everyone loved loved the sunroom. The owner was very nice to deal with. We plan on another family reunion here in the future.

As usual the experience of rentals through VRBO is sooo easy. Thrushwood Estates is a delightful place to stay. There were a few small things that needed to be taken care of, and Wayne made sure they were.

Family Reunion
The house was amazing and large enough to accommodate all twelve of us. The view and yard was awesome! A perfect spot for outside games. The location was perfect and very close to town (although not within walking distance). We really enjoyed exploring the area, but the best part was coming back to the house. I would definitely stay there again and hope to do so in the near future.

As Advertised and Even More!!!!
Our son graduated from high school and we had out of town guests coming to participate. The house was perfect to accommodate many people and had multiple sitting areas and outdoor spaces for different activities / conversations. The house was in great shape and had all the essentials and was close to the grocery store and downtown Peterborough for folks who wanted to venture out. Every person who stayed at the property raved about it. The house was perfect in every way and I could not imagine a better option in the area.

Sprawling space has room for everyone
We were in NH for a 90th birthday celebration. 5 siblings and partners. The house worked well for us. It has no first floor bedrooms and steeper stairs... if you have mobility issues, it’s not a good choice.

Lovely house. Spotlessly clean. Perfect for our family. Everyone complimented the house and said how lucky we were to be able to stay there. My only suggestion - add a outdoor light at the front door. The motion detector doesn't light up until you are down the steps.

Beautiful spot for our family reunion!
This was an excellent venue for our family reunion. The home is lovely; charming, and clean, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The yard is sprawling and private, with gorgeous views of the mountains, and a deck and grill for outdoor entertaining. Everything that we needed to prepare our own meals was provided. The location is perfect - so close to shopping and restaurants, and an easy drive to Keene or Eastern Vermont, and the Manchester Airport. We visited in September, and the weather was great, but I would love to stay here in any season. We had a wonderful time, and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
