"It was not where it was listed but it was a good spot just had one set of bunks so one adult slept on the top. It was in the garment district near the empire state building. There was one bedroom with a double and the main part of the apartment had the other double with the bunk beds. The kitchen was good and stocked with basic dishes. "This hotel was as expected per the reviews I read. The location was good for us as we needed to be near Columbia University. The subway stop was 2 blocks away and let us out right at the school, which was our main goal. Cost was good and that was our other main goal. So we were pleased with our stay for our purposes. It's definitely outdated, not sparkling clean (clean bedding and clean enough bathroom), and the staff can be difficult to get help from. If you are staying for a no frills trip for a few nights and are looking for location for a reasonable price and don't have super high standards, you will be satisfied with your stay. Just be realistic about what you are getting for this price. We had 2 full sized bed, decent air conditioning, clean sheets. Our room may have been nicer than some others as I booked this reservation 5 months in advance. I would stay here again for the same reasons that I stayed this time... location and cost. It was good enough for me for a few nights."

"Hotel Belleclaire is a beautiful, well-maintained, older New York hotel. The rooms have all the modern conveniences, yet maintain their character. Everything was very clean and in excellent working condition. Using the daily $10 voucher at the bakery to try all the exquisite pastries was a special treat. The 72nd and 79th subway stations, Natural History Museum, Central Park, and Bloomingdale's Outlet are in walking distance."

"DO NOT STAY HERE: Health Hazard, Broken Amenities, and Terrible Service Overall Rating: 1/5 Stars Our family stay at this Upper West Side property near Central Park was an absolute nightmare. This hotel is poorly maintained, physically unsafe, and completely lacking basic hospitality. The Room & Safety Issues: Filth: The mattress was heavily stained, and there were visible food stains splattered on the walls. Safety Hazards: The electrical outlets were corroded. The bed frame was actually installed backward, causing me to painfully collide with it twice, leaving my foot severely bruised. Missing Essentials: The room was completely missing a door, and the closet had no hanging rod. Broken Amenities: Climate & Water: The air conditioner barely functioned, leaving the room stuffy. The shower water never got hot, making comfortable bathing impossible. No Toiletries: The hotel failed to provide standard showering amenities. Food & Customer Service: The Food: Absolutely terrible. My children normally eat anything without complaint, but even they could not stomach the meals here. Management: Zero flexibility or empathy. We had to extend our stay by a single day due to circumstances, and management refused to waive any fees or offer any goodwill discounts despite the horrific condition of our room. Avoid this place at all costs. The location near Central Park is not worth the filth, the injuries, and the abysmal service."
