We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very responsive to our questions. The place was spotless. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was awesome.
Perfect spot to enjoy the quiet bayou! We spent 2 days in the city and ended our trip here! Everything was comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend!
If you are looking for a central place to stay so you can visit the surrounding areas, i.e. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, then this is the spot. A updated cottage with 1 bedroom, kitchen, diningroom, a huge bathroom with washer & dryer. You have your own separate driveway from the host's main house. The shared covered patio beautifully lit at night was a excellent place for grilling. There is a private hot tub located in the back overlooking the bayou. Lots of great food around. The host and hostess provided us w lots of great info as to where to dine and shop while there. 10 out of 10 i would stay there again.
We were in town for a party. The location worked great for us. Clean and functional. Would have liked to have shower gel provided but we worked it out. Also left some cotton pads and Qtips for next visitors
My cousin and I found the guest house beautiful, as well as color coordinated throughout. It was very comfortable and clean with fresh sheets. Large tv’s in both the den — that the kitchen opened into — and bedroom. The king bed was very comfortable, something that was a bonus since I don’t always find beds that way! The bathroom was large, with a washer and dryer. It was well appointed and included a walk-in shower. There was a covered patio with table and chairs just a few feet from the door which we enjoyed as well. The one and only downside was that you couldn’t see the water from the guest house or patio outside. In order to see and reach Bayou Teche you had to walk around the main house, though it was a short walk to the water. There was a wonderful pier over the water. While we didn’t fish you could see them jumping! There were also comfortable lounge chairs that we set up on the dock, enjoying the water and scenery. So very quiet and peaceful. :) Heather and Mac were wonderful hosts, giving you complete privacy but available should you need to talk with them. In all a very pleasant stay!
Although the hot tub did not work because of a lightning strike, the hosts were very considerate and the property was very nice and clean. Amazing views from the dock outback
Beautiful peaceful weekend getaway weather was gorgeous very relaxing

Was a great cabin but instructions very lite i.e. what to dilo with garbage or how to work TV over all very nice hot tube was behind another house u had to walk around made me uncomfortable to walk around someone elses house with a dog barking
My wife and I were looking for an escape from the day to day grind and we found it! Property was clean and comfortable! The area is quiet and was exactly what we were looking for.
We felt welcomed by Mack and Heather, but our privacy was very respected. We loved being on the water and enjoyed sitting on the dock in the early morning. The accommodations were very clean and well kept. Great location in relation to the places we wanted to visit!
Great property. Clean and well appointed. It offers privacy without being far away from everything. The owners were very attentive to my needs. I would definitely recommend the property.
We chose this location to explore southern coastal Louisiana.
There is not much to do in Patterson itself but it was a very safe location.
The guest house is top notch. It is close to the main road but it was still quiet.
The hot tub and water are accessed through the owners backyard.
Captain Caviars swamp tour was the highlight of our visit to Louisiana! It is just down the road a bit from the guest house.
My husband and I are both from Patterson. He passed away three years ago and I did this trip with a friend to take pics and visit place we hung out at. The house was awesome. Heather was a great host. I accidentally locked my self out and she helped me to get back in and she was on vacation!!:). I will stay here again in the future!! I would have loved to see some local art on the walls! I may just have to send her some of the pics we took!!!!
We were so looking forward to our trip to Louisiana. But, our trip was interrupted after I received word that my mom had been admitted to the hospital back home. The host was notified. Sorry this happened. She was very understanding. We hope to rent this place again.
Wonderfull, immaculately clean, comfortable, quite, and lovely. After a long day of work, play or hardship, the cottage is welcoming and restful. Located on Bayou Teche, you can watch alligators swimming, fish jumping and hear birds calling. Inside, I loved the wonderful bed, comfortable couch, coffee pot, washer-dryer and big walk-in shower. At the market across the street I bought everything I needed; saving money by not eating out every night. Unlike the hotels, it is quite, with no unpleasant smells, the lighting is awesome for reading, I walked barefoot on the floors and loved just being there.
The cottage is conveniently located on Hwy 90 in Patterson; just a few blocks to the best homemade Boudin at the "Black Kettle Cajun Meats, just down the road for a great bayou boat tour by "Captian Cavier" and there is a BBQ cafe across the street.
You do not have to look further; this is the perfect place.
Especially disappointing because even thought we met only one of the hosts, we could tell they meant well. However, the first problem was that the unit really was not very clean. The stove top had aluminum lining the drip pans. It looked like the linings had been there through a couple guests. They was torn and black. There was food and other cooking remnants next to edge of burner which burned and caused smoke the one time we used it to boil water. When we laid some maps on kitchen table they stuck to it because it had not been cleaned properly. The mat inside the door had lots of debris from outside. The bathroom floor was pretty disgusting with black hairs here and there. In the shower there were dead flying insects as there were some also on kitchen floor. The shower fixtures were not attached to the shower walls, and the thermostat was coming off the wall and needs to be reinstalled. While people’s taste on decor differ, it was very spartan and just did not exude a warm feeling. Sad, because it could have been much better with a little attention to basic things like proper cleaning and even some minimal decorating.
