1. Elephants Lodge - Bellevue Forest Reserve

Paterson

"Was left stranded outside the gate with no access no instructions. Gate would not open even though wr drove up to it. Phone lines dead. Had no option but to drive away feeling very sad and extremely dissapointed. Drove off into the dark desert looking for a last minute booking which ended up being 1.5 hours drive away. Management said no refund once they finally contacted us in a new telephone number that neither us or hotels.com had been provided with. Still waiting for some sort of apology...

Nick’s warm hospitality made us feel completely at home, while Riaan’s incredible knowledge brought every part of the walking safari to life. The camp’s thoughtful comforts were equally memorable. "Bukela is a beautiful stay, facilities are great, friendly staff and our ranger (Sim) was very knowledgeable. Foodwise is really below average, just not good especially for a 5* resort. It felt like diner was prepared during the day and heated up in the evening, just not fresh. Breakfast was really poor. Only meal that was good was the lunch. No snacks during the day. Woodbury Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

10/10 Excellent

We spent 2 nights at Woodbury Lodge shortly after a 4 night stay in Sabi Sands, and were really glad that we did! The lodge is nicely located on a hill, very comfortable and with great views and throughout our short visit we were continually impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff. Our first drive shortly after we arrived was super! We really wanted to see a Cheetah (didn’t find one in Sabi Sands) and with Brad our guide we managed to see one. Safari Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

Exceptional property, design, and experience with top hospitality. The common areas are picture-perfect overlooking small waterholes frequently visited by playful warthogs, curious antelope, and brightly colored birds while you eat breakfast and lunch. The villa interior surprised us in every corner from little aesthetic details, unexpected offerings in the cupboard, local bedtime stories at turndown, or staff leaving wine and glasses by the bathtub our first night. The private pools are...
