Passage du Gois

The hotel is in Biot, which is one stop from Antibes (old town). It’s located close next to Aqua park and Antibes theme park but there are very few restaurants around and we did feel very isolated and had little choice but to get the train to Antibes old town every evening. The beach opposite is a stone beach so we also got the train to Juan Les Pins (2 stops). During check in they were unhelpful and wouldnt even entertain the idea of allowing us to check in a moment before 3pm…. Even if our room was ready. It’s a shame they didn’t put in as much effort inside as they did on the outside, as when I arrived I did think it looked lovely. The pool is very small, it could have been a lot bigger given the size of the hotel - it was probably as small as a baby pool at a larger hotel. It was fine for the odd pool day, but by no means could you sit around it every day. The food inside the hotel was not good. The drink prices are ridiculous- €5 for a small water, €7 for a Coke Zero, and the food was not enjoyable. We quickly realised that after our lunch on the first day. The rooms are very basic and we did book a family room but I’m pretty sure it was just a standard sized disabled room and therefore cramped for a family of our size (2 adults, 2 children and a toddler). But overall it was ok i just don’t think I’d stay there in the future.

Hotel really catered to its guests. A/C in the rooms, lots of outlets which was very helpful, and the hotel bar allowed for water, soda, and alcohol to be easily accessible. The staff was so nice and helpful, allowing us to store our luggage and even bringing it right to the room for us before we got back from our adventures. The location was nice, more away from the touristy spots but near a beautiful overlook park and walking distance to train stations. Excited to go back!

This place has no AC, I’m sure that 9 months out of the year this might not be a problem , but during the Summer months, it’s nearly uninhabitable in their rooms. When we first checked in and realized there was no AC, we panicked and called the reception desk, they confirmed there was no AC. I asked if we could cancel and I was willing to pay 50% of our entire stay as a cancellation fee, and leave right there and then. They said no refunds would be possible. The coolest day that week was 93 degrees. We had a great time in Paris, but never a relief in sight after long days, only a hot, hot room waiting for us. We took cold showers before bed and the women would leave their hair wet to make the night bearable. I probably would have given this property 5 stars if they had AC. How can any hotel that has hot Summers not have this? This should be a requirement before websites like Expedia even show their listing. Lesson learned , I will Always look at amenities more closely just to be sure, no longer will I assume.
