I liked the hotel - the room was clean, a good size, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good quality and had a good range of cold foods.
The massive downside for me was the lack of noise insulation. My room was on the 7th floor (708) and faced the main road. The noise from the road was so loud and so constant, I did not get any rest while I was there. I couldn’t even watch tv and relax in the room. I tried to sleep using my noise cancelling headphones but this didn’t block out the sirens, trucks, souped-up cars and illegally-modified motorbikes that sped along at all hours.
A couple of other small negatives that I could live with if it weren’t for noise issues - free bottle of water and pack of sweets in the room on arrival was nice. Would have been nicer if this was topped up for every night I was there. The room wasn’t cleaned and tidied when I was out for the day - the door to the toilet and the shower were left hanging open, a used mug was left on the table, the cups on the sink weren’t replaced - small touches that would be good to improve. The heating/cooling system was also noisy, there was a clicking sound when it switched itself off and that also kept me awake. The breakfast was very busy at times, with long queues for the one hot drink machine and food wasn’t refilled fast enough - I had to leave in a hurry so didn’t get to have a hot drink or pastries.
A decent hotel for the price but wouldn’t stay again unless guaranteed a garden facing room.
