Very un-touristy compared to other cities' 'old towns'. We loved sitting in restaurants on Simon Bolivar square... fun restaurants and bars. A few shops selling hats, souvenirs... but generally very quiet. Nice for walking around.
I was there when they filmed suicide squad 2, not everything was accessible
If you can have your taxi driver stop at a metro station before you get to your hotel and purchase a Metro card, you can easily get anywhere in the city for very cheap. A bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the Hard Rock Hotel in front of the mall.
