We had a wonderful stay at Rebecca’s. Very clean, all the amenities you could need, and views to die for! Rebecca was very sweet and even made us fresh cinnamon rolls! We would not hesitate to stay here again!
Rebecca’s property was beautiful!! It was easy to find, super clean, and COMFORTABLE!! Communication with our wonderful host was always quick too! Thanks for a great stay!!
It's a great little apartment above the owners detached garage. You can walk down the hill to the lake at the bottom. Very quiet with great views. Hope to be back soon.
Beautiful private retreat with whimsical and tasteful bear decor. Gorgeous views with lake access. Washer and dryer are welcome bonus. Wish we were able to stay longer.
Such a cozy, comfortable loft apartment. After two weeks traveling around, this was our absolute favorite place to stay. Every detail made us feel welcomed and at home. The views are breathtaking!
Can't wait to visit again
We enjoyed our stay. The location is quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed sitting on the landing for the stairs and watching the sunrise. We also saw several planes take off. We felt like we were at a remote location in Alaska, but we had all the comforts of home. We are tall people and the shower is small, worth the stay, just be prepared. I would stay here again and again. You need to be physically able to carry your baggage up an outdoor stairway.A great place to stay in the Mat-Su Valley.
very homey feeling with excellent host. available for any questions we had and gave ideas for fun weekend. we even "stayed in" because of the comfort! highly recommend
Beautifully appointed private cozy loft apt in a very beautiful area. Wonderful host, great views and many activities in Palmer/Wasilla area to stay a few days. Wish we could have stayed longer.
It is so quiet and tranquil at Stormy Hill. We enjoyed the amazing views on the front porch. Rebecca WAs such a gracious hostess and made us feel so welcomed at her place. Thanks for an amazing time.
Good quality furnishings and as advertised. Bed is firm. Hostess is friendly and very responsive. Good views and just the right distance from town. Nice kitchen and w/d
The house is perfect for what we needed. It has a microwave, washer dryer, refrigerator, stove, A TV with Roku that you can connect to your streaming subscriptions. If you’re looking for a place outside of Anchorage, this was very nice. The property manager is extremely friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again definitely.
Stayed here before a cruise out of Seward. Met all of our needs and had a few minutes to walk down to the beautiful lake. I would recommend you stay here as it was very quiet and private. There are stairs so you may want to put your things in light bags instead of hauling your full suitcase up for a short stay. Cookies are a very nice touch. Thanks
Wife and I loved the place . The Attention to detail made are stay comfortable .The cinnamon rolls were such a pleasant surprise . Thank You for making are stay
a wonderful memory .

Quaint little piece of heaven on Lake Gooding. Not only was the place a perfect little getaway, but it is close to many places and the host Rebecca is amazing! She was get communicating before and during. She was happy to answer all my questions since I was traveling from the east coast to Alaska for the first time. If I get up there again will def be booking there!! Loved it!
What a view! Quiet space perfect for exploring the area!
Location was perfect for us as we were there for the Arctic winter games. Close to Palmer and Hatcher’s’s pass (beautiful). View from the little kitchen is fabulous.Warm welcome from the host who lives near by and took time to chat. It takes a little practice to figure out when start and stop the fireplace in order to keep an even temperature throughout the night but it is feasible (winter stay).
The night at Story Hill Retreat was the best stay of our trip to Alaska. We felt very welcome, cozy, and Rebecca thought of everything we might need. We took a canoe for a trip out on the lake and even dove in for a swim. The guest house was very clean and tidy and we were able to watch some Netflix and do laundry. Rebecca gave us some recommendations for nearby attractions and the Musk Ox Farm was a hit! We just wish we had booked a second night :)
We only stayed for a night on the way to Valdez but the cabin was perfect. It was cute, clean, and had a gorgeous view! I would mention to get to this particular cabin you had to park up a bit and carry luggage down a number of steps. Not an issue for us but it could be for some. There is another cabin you park right in front of. But again, loved our stay.
We booked this property to break up a drive from Denali to Homer. I chose it also because it had its own washer and dryer, which allowed us to pack lighter and wash clothes part way through our trip. This little place was just perfect. Located in a private gated community on a hill overlooking a small lake. We only stayed one night so didn't make use of the kayaks and paddle boards that Rebecca had available. The place had all the amenities one could need (even a tiny oven/stove that we didn't use, but we did use the washer/dryer). The bathroom was roomy and cozy at the same time. Bedding and beds were exceptionally comfortable, with an array of different pillow types (including foam!), and the place had sturdy blackout blinds. Rebecca greeted us when we arrived to let us know she was right next door if we needed anything. Wonderful place. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area or just passing through.
