Overall, the house is spacious and of a really high quality. The beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of space and seating options in the multiple living areas, so even with a large extended family gathering, no one felt on top of anyone else. The kitchen was large with plenty of counter space. Like many rental properties, utensils, knives, pots and pans were not great, so if you plan on cooking for a large family, you’ll be glad you brought some kitchen items from home. The movie theatre was great. Access to the on-site water park is a really nice perk and a huge hit with the kids.
However, a lack of regular maintenance and a mixed degree of responsiveness by Jeeves costs this property two stars. Many items reported in other reviews were still present - non-functional water slide, broken shelves/drawers in the refrigerators, certain bedroom TVs are not working.
Upon arrival at 4pm, the housekeeper was not done (she finally left around 7pm). In the rush to complete her work, the cleaning was average and it was not “additional covid disinfecting”. Some beds were made with the wrong size sheets (Queen sheets on King bed, missing pillowcases) and a final towel inventory was not done. Despite several calls, housekeeping never brought the missing towels or wash cloths (3 wash clothes and 3 hand towels for the whole house!) Although they did show up at 11pm to deliver four damp pillow cases!
The broken valve to control water to the water slide was replaced at the end of our stay, but the slide was still not working when we left. Pool maintenance was done in the middle of the morning, including chlorine shock chemicals, rendering the pool useless for hours on a hot day. There is clearly a leak in the pool pump system that required the pool to be refilled almost daily for about 6-10” of water loss.
There were lots of small things that really could be easily addressed - loose door thresholds taped down, non functional hairdryers, broken toilet seat, missing blu-ray player, broken skeeball machine, no ping pong balls, missing checkers, etc. None of these items were individually significant, but should be addressed for a property renting at this price point. And should have been easily rectified when we reported them. That all being said, when the 2nd floor air conditioning unit stopped working during our stay, the Jeeves team worked very quickly to get a technician on-site and the HVAC unit working again within a few hours.
