First, the staff at Phoenix East was very responsive and did their best to correct what they could. Renters should know that although this condo is advertised considered "oceanfront", you can't see the ocean b/c the unit is on the "B" level below the first floor and sand dunes block the view. No window coverings on sliding door in master bedrm so we were awakened every morning by daylight. This was reported but not corrected. Toilets slow to flush, have to hold handle down Had to use plunger in master bedroom (under sink). I didn't have problems after that but you have to hold the toilet handle down for it to flush properly. Many dishes in the kitchen were dirty. Some in cabinets had large food particles on them. We washed everything we needed prior to using. Mgmt offered to come in and re-wash everything. The master bathroom was not very clean, so mgmt sent housekeeping for a deep cleaning. They got out large stains that were in the tub. Lightbulbs were missing or lights not working. Maintenance addressed that. On the second day, the a/c stopped working but maintenance repaired it. The dryer took 3 full cycles to dry a load of clothes. This was addressed and seemed o work a little better. No TV remote in master bedroom, had to call maintenance. The decorative centerpiece on kitchen table is way too big and has to be removed to use available seating. Also, during our stay there was an A/C company that needed to transport an air unit and had to take down part of the fence that bordered the private patio. There was a large hole in the ground and due to missing fence, people kept walking through our private patio thinking they could get to front of building (this is a corner unit). The curtains in the living room are placed on the rods so that you cannot open them. I asked that this be addressed and one of the curtains was removed because the curtain rod "was not on properly" and we were left with vertical blinds that didn't close properly. This unit needs work. Again the condo staff was amazing. Apparently the owner did not respond to the window covering issue in the master bedroom, so we were awakened early everyday by bright sunlight. I did receive a small refund, but as I type this I feel as though it was not adequate considering what I paid for a condo that wasn't ready for rental. We wanted to change units but nothing was available.
