Nui Coc Lake

We had a very pleasant stay at the Oriental Jade Hotel. We booked two corner rooms, which were clean and comfortable, although the views from the fifth floor were not particularly impressive. The highlight of our stay was the excellent service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We truly appreciated the hospitality and felt well taken care of throughout our stay. The location is fantastic — just steps from Hoàn Kiếm Lake and many of Hanoi’s main attractions, with shopping and plenty of restaurants only a few blocks away. The breakfast buffet could be improved, particularly with more variety and better-quality cheese and cold cuts to accompany the bread selection. The eggs also need some attention; both days our eggs were overcooked, suggesting the kitchen could benefit from some additional training. Overall, what stood out most was the wonderful service and friendly staff. The location is hard to beat, and we would happily consider staying here again.

The room faced the main street so it was quite noisy and it was also opposite a hospital so sirens were not unusual. Aircon only worked at one setting and fan could only be set on full speed or off. Bed and bathroom were good. Staff were helpful especially Da who booked my tour, arranged transport and gave restaurant recommendations. He was very good to deal with. Staying in the Old Quarter was fun, being in the middle of everything with eating and shops very close by. The included breakfast was ok. This is a mid-economy hotel at a reasonable price. Tours may or may not pick you up from the hotel and you may have to walk to a pickup point.
