We had an excellent 4-night stay. The house was wonderful - well kept, clean, cozy, and quiet. The enclosed porch was a nice perk.
We loved the location, it was within 2hrs of the national parks and monuments we were visiting in Utah and Colorado, and the drive through the mountains with the changing leaves and wildlife was stunning.
Make sure you save a day for the Million Dollar Highway! The ride from Ouray to Silverton and Durango was PHENOMENAL.
We really enjoyed learning the history about the Nucla area, and all the small towns we passed through.
Additional misc notes, the cleaning fee and checkout time and cleaning requirements were the most reasonable we've experienced, the kitchen is well stocked for cooking, and the host was friendly and accommodating of our later than expected check-in. The internet at the home was good, and we had cell service with Verizon within the town (roaming), note there's limited coverage through the mountains. Keep in mind that the two towns of Nucla and Naturita have less than 1k residents, so it's quiet, quaint, and expected to have limited hours and limited food/groceries/gas options but it had everything we needed.
Enjoy the slower pace, it was very relaxing.
