I understand the difficulty of having permanent steps to the river but perhaps a temporary one which can be taken out during the winter would help those who are not as young and nimble as some. Also, it is to be noted that there is nowhere to place your clothes, etc other than a few hooks. A small dresser with shelves or drawers would help with that. Overall it was a nice restful stay.
