  • On the eastern part of São Miguel Island, discover our lodge located in the heart of a nature reserve, Faja do Araujo, facing Marquises Bay.
    2 bedrooms, 2 double beds, 1 single bed, and 1 sofa bed; 2 shower rooms; a terrace with a unique view, ...Peace and relaxation guaranteed.
    Car and Zodiac boat available.

    A wide range of nature activities:

    Hiking, surfing, sailing, kayaking, sea and mountain fishing, deserted or popular beaches, whale watching, scuba diving, canyoning, natural hot springs, ...

    As soon as you book your stay, I’ll contact you to share tips and tricks for an unforgettable vacation. We’ll have a video call using a private Google Map. During this 1 hour and 30-minute session, I’ll share the best of my 5 years of experience on São Miguel.

A stay of a lifetime: off the beaten track, perched on the cliff edge with the waves breaking below. 1000 miles of empty ocean in front of you, and barely another house in sight.Don’t pick this house if you want luxury: it’s fairly basic accommodation, and be aware of some of the practicalities: a steep drive down, a walk and quite a few steps to the car, and bring drinking water as the tap water isn’t safe to drink.Do pick this house if you want to feel away from the world for your stay!

The views and windows stunning. Surrounded by nature on all sides. Remote, we decided to cook dinner in every night to avoid driving the steep, hairpin road down at night. A small path and steps to get down to the place, fine for us but if have mobility concerns would be a problem. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen. Rustic beauty. Alain provided all the info. We needed - unique sounding birds at night. We had a wonderful stay and would stay again!

Leuk huis op een geweldige locatie

Geweldig huis om een paar dagen tot rust te komen. Heerlijke keuken, veel zicht over zee en veel privacy. Zeker een aanrader!

A unique and very beautiful spot for a summer house. Perched just above the sea on the volcanic cliffs to the west of the island. Corey’s shearwaters (?) nesting just below the balcony gave us a stunning display at dusk and dawn. Good parking close by. We were unlucky enough to have unseasonably cold weather for May so the log burner hot a bit of use in the evenings.If you want to cook for yourself there is a well stocked kitchen and plenty of herbs spices and oils available.As a bonus we went whale watching and had a close up experience with a Blue Whale. All in all a great place to stay on a relatively unspoilt island.

Three days in paradise

The area is an absolute treasure with incredible views and a sense of solitude. The property is like a cottage, with a rustic feel, with all the amenities you need. We loved it!

Wir hatten schöne 14 Tage in diesem wundervoll und besonders ruhig gelegenen kleinen Paradies. Besonders der Blick auf den Atlantik aus dem Haus und von der Terasse sind unbeschreiblich schön.

Wir haben unseren Urlaub im wunderschönen Haus direkt am Meer sehr genossen. Das Meer Rauschen aus jedem Raum Terasse Garten genießen zu können, war wirklich etwas Besonderes. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nice, sweet all you need! We had a great time and were flashed by the great view. Every morning sunrise from bed and breakfast in front of the ocean. It‘s a lil rustical but so sweet and lovely!

A beautiful house with an amazing view!

A beautiful property built into the cliffs with a most spectacular view! The house is well appointed and only a short drive to Nordeste where there is a good butcher, fishmonger and mini mart. We loved the feeling of being so close to the sea and to nature. Alain was a lovely host giving us lots of tips. All in all an amazing place to stay!

Nice place, well equipped with spectacular views. Remote and off grid. Allow for time in car required to explore island, including daily mountain-driving commute to access main road. Need to watch small children and headlamps were recommended for night time.

Traumhafter Ausblick

Wir haben jeden Tag in diesem Ferienhaus genossen und uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Vom Sonnenaufgang am Morgen, bis zum Absacker auf der Terrasse mit diesem grandiosen Ausblick am Abend. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet und es fehlte uns nichts. Gerne wieder!

Das Haus steht an einer Steilküste mit Blick direkt auf den Atlantik. Man hört nur das Meer und den Silbernen Sturmtaucher, der dort brütet. Es ist gut ausgestattet und bietet ausreichend Platz für eine Familie. Der Gastgeber war bei Rückfragen schnell und gut zu erreichen. Wer die Natur mag, wird sich dort wohl fühlen. Für mich war es ein kleines Paradies.

Dreamlike oasis

Photos cannot fully capture the magical experience of staying here. Once you descend the steps, you feel you are alone amidst the majesty of the ocean and nature itself. The house is filled with many details that enhance the comfort of your stay.

Ein wunderschönes Objekt in traumhafter Lage. Ausstattung wie beschrieben. Sehr netter, hilfsbereiter Vermieter. Einfacher Check-in und Check-Out. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und wir hatten wunderschöne 8 Tage im Beira Mar. Nur zu empfehlen, gerne wieder.

Wonderfull house with amazing view

This place is truly amazing. A short walk from the parkingspace (100 meters) brings you to the house that is built on the rocks above the ocean. The view is impressive. The house has everything you need and is very well suited for working as well as relaxing. Even the bed has a sea view. We definitely hope to return some time.
