"Easy to find right off the highway, no traffic noise a plus. Clean bed and bath, but carpet needs replaced in our room. Nice that it had a mini fridge and microwave, AC worked well and TV easy to navigate. Comfy bed and pillows too, plus shampoo, body wash and conditioner provided in the shower. Overall a good value, would return and try again. :-) Friendly staff and good simple breakfast provided."

"Don't miss a stay here. We didn't do a train car, but the traditional hotel room gives that train vibe, too. The entire hotel is beautiful, art-deco inspired and the staff is beyond superior. Don't miss dinner at Elsie's Daughter, it's delish. And take a drink from that bar or grab one at Caboose Bar and sit out by the firepit. I would return to this place in a HEARTBEAT!"

"We spent the night at Read House on our way home from SC. I had read about the hotel and it's resident ghost in the past, so ....of course, we had to stay! The hotel is one of the most beautiful that I have stayed in. The history of the site is an added bonus. We took a tour of room 311 and had the most engaging guide. I totally recommend a stay at this hotel!! You must explore the hotel and the grounds along with a tour of 311. Our room was beautiful, the bed super comfy, and the staff amazing. Can't wait to stay there again."

"I had a king room and there were four lights in the room and two of them didn’t work. The coffee maker had a cup of water sitting on the coffee maker. The desk also had two broken bars that went to the legs. I can understand the lights not working, but if you cleaned the room properly you would have noticed the cup of water just sitting in the coffee maker and the broken legs were very noticeable. This room should have been taken out of commission until the desk legs were fixed. Very disappointed with this. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful."
