"This cottage has been restored to bring a vintage Irish home alive, and updated with modern day conveniences. It is beautifully decorated, and supplied with everything a weary traveler could need. We found it neat and tidy, and very well maintained. It is located far enough away from the noise and traffic of the city, yet an easy drive to get you there. "

"Bathrooms were tiny, had no mirrors and hot water did not work in one. Remote for one tv did not work. Lighting was poor in kitchen and dining room. Pull on one drawer was broken. Exposed wires in dining room. Cushions did not fit in living room. Needed better instructions for stove."

"We had a lovely stay in this house. It was located in a beautiful location overlooking the estuary and a short drive from the local village. It was very clean and tranquil, exactly what was needed after getting away from a big city. The views of the many islands on the River Shannon were breathtaking. Anne was very friendly, easy to contact and accommodating to our needs. We would highly recommend it for somewhere to stay, especially to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in a picturesque setting"

Replaced within 48 hours, but it was incredibly inconvenient and disappointing. Limited our ability to travel for one and a half days. "Beds were extremely comfortable. A 15 minute walk into Galway city centre which was also accessible along a busy bus route suited us fine as traffic meant driving, while an option, would take longer.. Hotel was beautiful. Staff very pleasant. Rooms were cosy and very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Would definitely go back. Excellent value for money, and Galway is an incredible city to explore! Give yourself plenty of time to stay here and make the most of it. The Ashe is a great place to stay and as a base for getting around the city and countryside!"
