Magical Yurt Stay
We had such a wonderful family vacation at the Climbing Vine Cottage. The host provided coloring supplies, toys, & books for our children. My husband & I enjoyed relaxing in front of the pellet stove. & to our surprise, we even experienced our first snow of the season during our stay. So grateful for the hosts quick responses & recommendations for local restaurants & activities. I highly recommend this spot for your next family getaway!

This adorable yurt was CLEAN and comfortable. We really loved the interior spaciousness and the cozy loft for the kids, as well as the beautiful central skylight. Our favorite part, though, was our SUPERhost Michelle. She was the perfect balance of available without being in-your-face. She was incredible with our kids teaching them how to feed chickens, gather eggs, tell the difference between koi fish and goldfish, and pick raspberries and zucchinis. She also went out of her way to show us the hiking path to the wonderful secluded waterfalls ten minutes from the yurt. Extra bonus treats were the natural soaps and cleansers in the yurt, the fridge dispenser with cold water ready-to-go, and the fully stocked kitchen where we were able to cook a feast every night. Thanks, Michelle, for a fantastic family vacation and treasured memories

Great Location
The yurt was in a quiet location. Close enough to everything that a simple drive brings you to groceries, restaurants, the commons and the waterfalls. Far enough away to enjoy a peaceful bbq at the end of the day. Clean yurt, and Michelle was very responsive when we had a question. We hope to enjoy her yurt again some day soon!

It’s located between Watkins Glenn and Ithaca. The yurt was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. We had a great vacation and appreciated using the yurt as our home base.

Relaxing and Beautiful
The yurt is lovely and extremely comfortable. I stayed with my 12 yr old son who was delighted with the loft. It feels very remote but it's also very close to town. Michelle is very friendly and helpful. There is so much to see and do in the area! It's very difficult to choose just a few different things. It's one of the best stays I've ever had, and we hope to be able to go back again!

Great stay
Michelle has done a great job with the yurt. Having real walls inside makes it feel more like a home; while the loft and big skylight in the middle makes it feel like an adventure. My kids loved feeding the fish and chickens. Michele is a fantastic host. Only minutes from Ithaca, it was a great place to explore from.

Great stay!
My girlfriend and I thought this was an awesome property and suited our needs perfectly. The location was quiet and peaceful. Michelle was very friendly and easy to communicate with. She was quick to respond. Check in/Check out was very easy as well. We would definitely stay here again- no questions asked.

A nice break from hotels during a college tour trip. Teens enjoyed the chickens and fish and frog pond. Parents hiked to waterfall. Yurt had all we needed and now we can say we stayed in a YURT!

Sweet Place!
Spacious, clean and unique! Manager was helpful. Not a very secluded place, as residence sat 200' away from Yurt, BUT, many efforts were provided to enhance privacy i.e., back entrance, plants. Would stay again!

Cozy Climbing Vine Yurt
We had a great stay at the property. It was even nicer than we expected. Clean, cozy, with more than enough room for us and our pooch. Love the gardens and grounds. Very quiet and peaceful. Michelle was great at communicating with us. We loved everything about it! So close to everything we wanted to do too! Highly recommend a stay at the yurt! We hope to return!!!

Fantastic stay!
What a cute, cozy, secluded stay! So close to Ithaca - only 15 minute drive to all groceries, restaurants and shops! Just as close to parks and wineries, so much to do! The yurt was THE perfect size for 3 adults…we grilled and had a bonfire almost every night - especially with all the fresh veggies and fruit available from all the local farms. Having the fresh eggs in the morning from the henhouse on the property was the icing on the cake! Absolutely lovely stay…can’t wait to come back with even more friends!

Wonderful retreat
Beautiful location so close to multiple waterfalls, lakes and downtown Ithaca. The yurt is a lovely space with views of the garden and treetops. The yurt was very clean and met our needs for a comfortable family space. Michelle was so welcoming and responded promptly to our questions.

Serene and beautiful
My family really enjoyed our stay in the yurt -- it was very clean and comfortable, and the decor is lovely. The property is so pretty, and we enjoyed visiting the chickens in their coop, exploring the trails, checking out the fish and frogs in the small ponds, and picking fresh vegetables from the garden. Michelle is a great host -- so friendly, thoughtful, and helpful in terms of suggestions of things to do. She grew up in the area and knows it very well. Would definitely recommend!

Great Glamping experience
This property was clean and convenient for driving to Ithica and hiking spots in the area. The owner was lovely and happy to give a tour of the property and garden. I would recommend this for a couple or small family. It served our purposes perfectly for our goal of hiking the gorge trails in the area and having a clean, relaxing place to stay that was unique compared to other vacation rentals and fancy for a Yurt! Had we known about this when the kids were younger, I think it would have been super fun with younger kids, for sure! My boys are 15 & 18 so they enjoyed just hanging out after long day of hiking whereas little kids would probably be excited to explore the garden, ponds and surrounding property (I quite enjoyed that, myself!)

We loved your place. Sleeping downstairs was comfortable ... sleeping upstairs in the twins on the last night when we had more guests was the bomb. Loved the stars through the roof of the yurt. Thanks for having us. Doing out-of-the-ordinary, which this was, makes special occasions like graduations all the better.

Climbing Vines Cottage
Very cute! Great location for all the places and things we wanted to see and do in the finger lakes region. Michelle is very friendly and responsive and the property is beautiful. Also the people in Newfield are so friendly and helpful. Great pizza at the Covered Bridge Market and good food also at the Sebring Inn. I would recommend the Climbing Vines to anyone going to the area as a good place to stay!

Gorgeous property
We had a lovely time exploring climbing vine. We particularly enjoyed the chickens, ponds, and scenic property. A short drive from downtown Ithaca, we visited a couple different falls, as well as Cornell and IC. The host is very welcoming and easy to be in touch with. The yurt is unique with all modern amenities. The beds were very comfortable with lots of options. We made lasting memories. Thank you!

First experience in a yurt
I visited with three friends and their dog over the New Years Eve weekend. We weren't sure what to expect when we pulled in, but it totally exceeded anything we were imagining. The yurt was spotless and was very welcoming. The beds were comfortable (great linens) and the sleeping loft was such a cool spot. We cooked meals there and loved the french press in the morning. The walk on the trail to the gorge was beautiful. It's a quick drive into Ithaca to visit many of the different waterfalls and state parks. I definitely want to return in the summer when the flowers and gardens are in bloom! Thank you for the experience :)

Beautiful Yurt and Thoughtful Host!
This yurt was inviting and comfortable for our family of six plus one dog. We cooked all of our meals in the eat-in kitchen and Michelle left a bag of delicious local coffee that we enjoyed in the French press coffee maker. Despite snow and rain with cold temperatures during our stay, we were warm and dry inside. Area hiking trails are fantastic. We can't wait to come back when the gardens are in season!

There were a lot of ticks on the property. I brought my two puppies and although they’re vaccinated it was hard to enjoy a walk or the outdoors. I just wish we had been told this upon booking the property , honestly we probably would have cancelled the booking or we wouldn’t have brought the puppies. Furniture in the living room was uncomfortable.

Perfect family vacation!
Staying in a yurt was on my bucket list and this property didn't disappoint. My young daughters thought the loft was magical and I loved the location overlooking a beautiful meadow with a trail right outside our front door. The owner was lovely and gave us a tour around the property, showing my girls how to feed the fish and check on the hens. We had a wonderful vacation in the Finger Lakes and we were so thankful that we stayed here!

Peaceful and Welcoming
My spouse and I had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at the property. Clean, bright and tranquil allowed us to feel refreshed each day. The property includes a lovely garden and we were invited to gather from it to enjoy. And we did! Michelle, the host is warm and personable. And she made us feel very comfortable. My family and I (husband, 8 year old son, and dog!) loved the yurt and surrounding property. The listing is spot on and the host could not be more amenable. She was super friendly and responsive and provided great local tips. We greatly appreciated her advice. We enjoyed exploring local parks and breweries and hope to visit again! Our son enjoyed feeding the fish in the garden pond and learned how to feed the hens, too!

Hidden Gem !
What a great unique experience the yurt was . It’s much bigger than the pictures show and there is totally room for an air mattress upstairs beyond the 2 beds. Michelle and family were awesome hosts . We loved finding newts and fossils right in the back yard on the property trials. My little one was obsessed with the chickens and fish and of course the raspberries. Also can’t beat fresh salads right from the garden lettuce:) we took lots of great day trips to gem mine in herkimer and blow glass in Corning . SO. MANY. WATERFALLS! Loved all of the local hiking and super cute towns . Would definitely recommend! Super comfortable bed in the master as well and we are bed snobs ;) thanks for a fabulous stay!

Fabulous spot!
We were two adults and three teens and all of us had a fabulous time! There was enough space for people to get some down time while also having enough room to gather together. And the gorge and creek were a big hit with the teens. All of us enjoyed the woods and general environment, especially our dog. It is a quick drive to the state parks, the lake and downtown Ithaca. Michelle was very warm and responsive and we felt very welcome at her family’s property. Can’t wait to come again!

Splendid yurt
We can't wait to return to the yurt! We had a lovely time! I snowed every day, we had some winds and yet the yurt stood and was warm and cozy as can be! Protected woods in the back of the property for some beautiful and adventuresome hiking (there's a very steep gorge nearby, be careful!). The property has 2 other rental buildings and the owners' home which were not in the photo, but everything and everyone is nice and quiet. Michelle was wonderful, and we bumped into her dad a few times in the woods. I love this place! Thank you for helping to bring up back to earth!

Charming and Peaceful
My husband and I recently stayed at the yurt with his parents and our 18 month old. The yurt was clean and cozy, and the pellet stove kept the yurt very warm and comfortable. We brought toys to keep our daughter entertained, but the property owner also had blocks, books, and even a little play kitchen inside, which was great. My husband and I were off the property most of the days hunting, but my in laws loved walking the area with our daughter and seeing the stars at night. Would definitely recommend.

Fun times. Great location
We cake here on a motorcycle adventure with friends to hike, chase waterfalls and taste wine. The yurt location was perfect. Everything in fact was great. If I were to have any complaint it was the beds. We are super spoiled with a comfy king at home, so sleeping was difficult for us as we just couldn’t get comfortable. This was in no way a reflection on the place itself. Just us in particular. I would recommend staying here in a heartbeat. It is an adorable place centrally located to many attractions.

We had a lovely week staying here - had all we needed and a lovely ambiance. It was very hot in July so worked out only way to stay cool in afternoon was to either have a.c. on all day or go swimming at the Robert H Tremman park lower waterfall only 10 minutes away. The yurt was a great base for exploring the stunning state parks in the area. The kids loved the toys and the frogs and toads. Thank you for a lovely break.

AMAZING place!
This place is amazing! We spent here almost a month, 2 adults and 3 kids. The location is perfect, in a short driving distance to lots of waterfalls, lakes, hikes and Ithaca. Nevertheless, the best place is the secret creek within a walking distance from the yurt. Michelle and her family are perfect hosts. Attentive, flexible and kind. We had a perfect vacation and we strongly recommend this place.

Home Away from Home
What an amazing experience!! It was our first time in a yurt and visiting the Finger Lakes. Michelle and her family were wonderful hosts. The yurt was very clean and cozy, the trails were great to walk our dog, privacy and the ability to have access to the gardens and chickens were terrific.. The proximity of the gorges, wineries and attractions were fairly close..We would highly recommend it. It was perfect for a little getaway.. The pellet stone was amazing, our dog never left her bed in front of it. Definitely hope we get back there soon. Enchanting gardens!
This space was perfect for our party of five! Lovely host. We'll be back! Sleeping in the Yurt had the joy of a tent with all the comforts of a home. The children loved the loft as their secret hideout. The garden was beautiful and the chicken charming. Climbing Vine was a short drive to Ithaca and it's gorges! Thanks Michelle!

Sweet spot near Ithaca/Cornell
Our family of 5 fit nicely in the yurt during our stay in Ithaca. It was a short 15 minute drive to down town and another 10 to get to Cornell campus. We loved being on the property, gathering the morning chicken egg and watching the fish and frogs in the little pond. The hike to the gorge was an added bonus that was the icing on the cake. Michelle is a gracious host that is available when needed. We will be back!
