The New Yorker is a historic hotel so expectedly it won’t have the same newness, spaciousness or amenities as a modern hotel. Queen Room was basic, but clean. Housekeeping was timely, the elevators fast, the walls quiet, the AC perfectly functioning, and the in room WiFi strong. The bed was on the hard side, and the business center was a huge disappointment as the Internet was often down and connection to printers spotty. But the Tesla exhibit and 1920s piped in live radio broadcast was interesting.

Lot of construction in front and beside hotel. Streets were crowded and dirty. Tick Tock restaurant was amazing! Inside the hotel was welcoming, clean, comfortable. They need to clean air vents.

This hotel is very dated...in bad need of an upgrade. The rooms look like they go back to the 60's or 70's. The bathroom and closet doors were so old and warped we could not close them. I actually had to leave the room so my wife could use the bathroom because the door would not close. Good location if you are going to MSG. Staff was helpful getting cabs and finding restaurants etc.

Very disappointed with how old this hotels interiors are. In our bedroom did not want to walk on carpet with bare feet. Shower was decent albeit ancient. Carpet outside lift duct taped together. On a positive great location but grim inside. Our floor 27 was anyway. Will not stay there again.

The New Yorker is just OK; a place to go if you want to stay in Mid-town, but you have few other options. The hotel decor is tired and the staff is even more so. It offers nothing in terms of amenities but saddles you with extra fees for every little thing. Beware, don’t ask the staff for directions to anywhere. If you’re now shot down with an immediate “I don’t know.” you’ll get marginal answer at best. That said, if all you need is a place to sleep and you know the city well, it’s an OK option.
