A Shipping Container Experience
No Pet/Cleaning Fee!! Riverside Hideout is a thoughtfully constructed shipping container home tucked into the woods & hills near the Tuscarawas River. Located near Tow Path trails, HOF, Amish Country, Atwood Lake, Tappan Lake, Historic Zoar, Swiss Festival.
The space
The container is equipped with a private Queen bed and spacious unique bathroom. The fully stocked kitchen is complete with a hot plate, toaster oven, Keurig plus coffee and a large mini refrigerator, grill plus propane. The bar top rests upon an old bicycle frame. The container offers Paid wifi but no TV. It has all of the other modern amenities! There are books, magazines, board games and cards!
••••••TAKE NOTE—-OHIO WINTER!!•••• The driveway is DEEP gravel and some call it steep. This isn’t New York Folks. I do not recommend a car from Fast and Furious 1-4, it likely won ’t make it up the drive. Winter months in Ohio are tough. I work hard to maintain it. I recommend 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. Or at least someone who knows how to drive in an Ohio Winter! The drive is best traveled at the rate of Go during any season!!
Heating source is baseboard. Cooling source is air conditioners. The air conditioners are also dehumidifiers and mostly run all the time. Please see house rules regarding check out and the heating/cooling.
There is a propane grill and a fire pit. You must bring wood. Or Firewood is for sale, $8 a bundle. I need to know before your stay.
Guest access You will have complete access to the whole container and the immediate surroundings.
The space immediately around the Container is yours to explore. Absolutely no parties. No overnight guests past the 4 person occupancy. Fires must only be within the fire ring. Please extinguish fire with water and never leave it unattended. NO SMOKING INSIDE THE CONTAINER. Please be nice to my bathroom door, it is 100 years old.
The Container is cleaned and linens are washed with Melaleuca. We do not provide paper towels, but several reusable towels.
Hot Tub Use Follow the Warning Labels. Be an adult. Please do not turn up the temperature. It takes hours for it to elevate. Please try not to bring rocks into the tub If you spill a beverage inside the tub, report it so I know how to clean the tub. When you remove cover, take it off towards the container and lay it up against the container. 911 For Emergencies
DOGS: They are welcome! They MUST remain leashed while outside and CANNOT be left unattended in the container. You must clean up after your dog inside and outside. There are other dogs around and the road is close. You will be held responsible for damage done by your dog. I have provided a poop scooper.
NO MINORS (under 18 may not place the reservation), they also must be accompanied by an adult, over 18 at all times.

The container was exactly as advertised. Quiet, set back from the road, and private. We were still very close to the restaurant that we ordered takeout from. Check in and out was super easy. The hot tub was amazing. Everything was clean. Host has her phone number written down so you can call if you have any problems.
What a wonderful place! I needed a few days away and this was perfect for me. I spent the first night watching the meteor shower from the hot tub and then a lovely nights sleep at this quiet property. The host was very responsive and had such great suggestions for local spots to visit. The driveway is steep, as described, but was easily drivable in ny suv. Cant wait to return!
Riverside Hideout is a cute, tidy, and unique stay nestled in the woods. It was a perfect way to “unplug” with limited service, no wifi (although you can choose to have it), and plenty of games, coloring books, books, AND a hot tub to fill your time!
Very beautiful scenery. Shopping, food, adventures were all close by. The driveway was a little bit suspicious but the host, Ryann did warn us about that and we were prepared with 4w drive.
My wife and I had a great time on our 1 year anniversary. Quiet and easy to get to. Just make sure your traction is good because once you are up the hill where the stay is, it could be difficult to navigate in the dark with a winding route surrounded by rocks.
Me and my wife came to unplug and spend time alone, and this place provided just that: very comfortable location for 2 people, off the grid, but very close to New Philadelphia. The container home is beautiful and very comfortable, the hot tub is perfect and we lit the bonfire and watched the flames melt all the worries away. Awesome relaxing experience.
The place is amazing and the history behind it...take advantage and read the info at the container!! It was all nicely done and clean!! So relaxing and peaceful. Had a really great time!!
We really enjoyed our two-night stay! The place looked exactly like the pictures, and the owner was great at communicating. There were plenty of fun things to do nearby. One note for those with sensitive skin—be cautious with the hot tub, as I experienced a chlorine rash (though my boyfriend had no issues). At least you know it’s clean! Overall, a fantastic stay, and we’d definitely recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay at the shipping container. The location is very quiet. The driveway was easier than we thought it would be. The hot tub is a nice feature and the indoor space is well utilized and very clean.
We had a great little escape here! The property is clean, has tons of character, and the chance to really disconnect is appreciated. I recommend booking here, but also maybe bringing beach towels for the hot tub. Bath towels were provided, but we at least would have preferred beach towels for the purpose!
This place was everything we hoped for and more! Total relaxation and peace. Plenty to do everywhere you looked. Thank you so much ryan for allowing us to enjoy this. We will be back!!
This was a great property to stay at! The location was private. The house had everything we needed, and the 3:00 check in and 12:00 check out times were great! Allowed us time to really enjoy our last day! Close to great biking!
Loved the idea of staying in a container. It was cozy and comfortable for us. However if you would have any physical difficulties it would be a would be a challenge.
Property was easy to access and find due to thorough instructions by owner. Property was clean, lots of nice touches, adequate dishes. Plenty of towels. Hot tub was great. We didnt get to use the outdoor space due to rain, but looks like it would have been great to use. Overall great stay and we will be back!
Our second stay at the Hideout was perfect, yet again. The owner helped make my husband's birthday special by doing a few things I requested to surprise him like minimally decorating and getting a bottle of his favorite scotch ready upon our arrival. Check in and it was a breeze and we were comfortable during our entire stay.
Overall we had an super cute time. The couch pulls out for additional sleeping area. We absolutely loved the dollar game and leaving clues of our own for the next guest. If we find ourselves traveling in this area we will reach out for another stay!
