We had a wonderful week in New London. The property is beautifully maintained and in a great location. It's perfect for us. The Vassalo's are gracious hosts and we've enjoyed multiple stays with them. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend time in the New London area.

Great Week in New London!

We absolutely love this property. It's in a peaceful and quiet location, it's beautifully appointed and the owners are super responsive. We have stayed here before and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing experience.

Special cottage in New London!!

What a wonderful spot the Shaker Bear Cottage is!! We were in New London for a Colby Sawyer college reunion, and this was the most perfect place to stay. Our hosts Tom and Kem are wonderful, and their cottage is so lovely—-spotless, well appointed with anything we would need (kitchen, bathrooms) and was tradition New England decor. We loved our visit!!!

Home away from home

The property itself was beautiful! It had views of a beautiful garden and a golf course. The house was so bright and spacious and quite comfortable. The hosts were charming, friendly and so accommodating… they truly made our visit quite memorable. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New London

House is extremely clean and in a great location. Back yard is awesome if you like to hangout outside and enjoy the outdoors with a fireplace. Owners are wonderful, super nice and very helpful. Overall enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay there again.

Another Wonderful Stay!

This is our second stay and it was even better than the last. We decided to stay longer this time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had a lovely pitcher of fruit tea and snacks awaiting us upon arrival! Kem and Tom are so friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next stay!

Best vacation ever!

Kem and Tom were amazing - right there to greet us and so helpful with anything we needed. Their place was beautiful- so well appointed - they left us treats, pulled out games for the kids snd told us about special events happening in town. They turned a short getaway into a real vacation. We were thrilled!

Winter Delight

Extremely comfortable, extraordinarily well furnished with attention to every single little detail! A five star hotel could not match Tom and Kems hospitality and concern of our comfort. We spent two nights at this beautiful “carriage house” hard by the Lake Sunapee golf course. It was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and our hosts, Tom and Kem, did everything to make our visit carefree and enjoyable. We especially liked the screened in porch where we enjoyed a family supper as the light softened to the west. Beautiful. The place comfortably sleeps five in two bedrooms sharing a bath. The appliances were modern and well maintained. The great room is furnished, the leather recliner especially comfortable for reading or a nap. Colby the cat added to the ambience.

Quiet family vacation

House was beautiful and had everything we needed. Hosts were amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. They always made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. They even set up the fire pit and grill for us. Located on a quiet road off the golf course where you can sit on their deck and enjoy the quiet and views.

The entire property has this very soothing and comfortable vibe that makes you feel at ease The lawn and gardens are just BEAUTIFUL! We loved Bubbles and Stanley(the dogs).
