This 'upside down' cottage has lovely outdoor spaces on several sides, enabling views into the forest at any time. We were lucky to have great weather for the first week and made the most of these spaces, being able to choose sunshine or shade at most times of day. The well equipped kitchen made self-catering easy. Bathrooms on both levels meant that we had the luxury of a bathroom each and the powerful shower in the en-suite was great.
The cottage is on the edge of Nethy Bridge, a quiet, forest village with excellent forest walks, well signed in all directions and right on the Speyside Way route. We enjoyed a quad bike tour at Rothiemurchus, visiting the rescued lynx and artic foxes at the Highland Wildlife Park and the nearby Strathspey steam railway.
