Room was freezing, no heat on, turned it on and it took all night to warm up.

Nice hotel with clean facilities.

Very handy as we were visiting family in the close 'hood. The room was clean and everything worked. It would be nice if a hair drier was in the room - you have to ask for one at reception. Similar for an ironing board. The heating/cooling system was by a remote. It was a little disconcerting as there was a lag before anything happened; but it worked well. I suppose it is fixed on Fahrenheit to suite our American cousins! We had a lovely view over the marina.

Hotel dated and not clean

The initial room was very dated with no air conditioning and a questionable bathroom. Spoke to staff at desk and they offered a redone room for more money. The whole hotel was very hot except for the newly offered room which we took so as not to lose out on all our money. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nice location on Seawalk

Hotel is being renovated but we were not allowed a renovated room at an extra $30.00 because we have a dog although it advertised as pet friendly. The room we got stank, the TV did not have a power cord, the oven did not work, no air conditioning and the shower did not work. After complaining we were moved to another non renovated room that did not smell as bad, but still no air conditioning , phone, microwave or working TV. I asked for a discount because of all the inconveniences, but was refused . It is too bad because it had such a great location, but we will never go back.

Hotel advertised air conditioner but didn't have one. Had to pay extra for a room that had one. Room was old . Website was misleading.

Good view but unhappy with Hotels.com

Beautiful location. The only issue is please Hotels.com! Please indicate if there is any additional charges for kids > 12 years old in the booking website. I was surprised on my journey there when I received a message saying I have to pay additional $20 per day for plus daily parking

Close to departure bay, several good restaurants

Close to a lovely walk along the waterfront into downtown Nainamo. The building is a bit "tired" but the reception staff were very nice and very helpful. They made up for any difficiencies.

Functional hotel, full kitchen, nice view

Nice staff, clean linens, older hotel but you have tv, Wi-Fi, fool kitchen and nice view. Very close to ferry, you can walk to Nanaimo downtown,it is not very close but walk you walk on the seaside . Hotel is not perfect but price is not very high. Only thing they take $200 deposit on the bigining and you pay$ /night for parking.

Checked in at 11pm or so. And fell asleep watching tv immediately and was awakened by a knock at the door. We attempted to phone the front desk and the phone in the room didnt even work.

Nice hotel with Harborview.

For the price, very nice bright suite . Nice to have a kitchen. Loved the view and direct access to the sea wall. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Great that they allow pets.

Budget with a view.

The main attraction of this place is the view. The room was fine but the hallway a bit musty. The room charge was posted to my card twice, once on check in and again on check out. That was corrected. There isn't a phone in the room nor an ice machine in the whole place. WiFi service was poor. However it was lovely to have a glass of wine while admiring the marina.

A great place to stay

There were some negative reviews about this place that were posted in 2015 that made me hesitate about booking. However, the price was excellent and the current management has dealt with the reasons for the past negative reviews. If you want to rent a room that is pretty inexpensive, strongly consider this hotel. It's quiet and conveniently located to the waterfront trail, and it's really an excellent walk into downtown Nanaimo. I'd stay here again...

Very basic needs only.

Quite noisy. Low budget comfort. Clean. Laundry service only. No other amenities.

Receptionist asked for $4.00 payment for parking which we refused because we were not notified of this at the point of booking. It is a 'motel' which means motor hotel, which signifies vehicle driven approach. That was annoying.
