Exceptional and relaxing 😌
First of all Sherrie’s place is immaculate! Everything you need - a comfortable home away from home! I LOVE ❤️ her recliners more than my own! I hadn’t seen a friend of mine in 40 yrs I went to school with who I was able to catch up with! Plus a comfy robe to climb into after the day and that recliner (see I mentioned it again!) with a glass of wine 🍷 was very chillaxing! Very quiet gorgeous oasis in the back yard area and a beautiful peek a boo view of the ocean with a lovely breeze and breakfast just makes a wonderful start to your day! Thank you 🙏 Sherrie, for being a fantastic hostess with the mostess Wouldn’t hesitate to return

Sherrie’s garden paradise!
Sherrie is a lovely lady that always has a friendly word, is eager to assist and has an amazing garden laid out for all of the guests. Very nice above ground part of the house with large kitchen and ample room for 2 to relax and watch a movie or play a game or 2. The apartment is a 5 min walk away from departure bay and 10 minute drive from all that Nanaimo has to offer, which is a lot!!

Everything you need!
This accommodation was wonderful in every way. The kitchen had great appliances and everything you need to make anything you could want to make -- even a rolling pin and pie plate to make a pie! It is obvious that the owner has thought very carefully what guests might need for a comfortable and convenient stay. Bed was very comfortable with the softest sheets ever and living room had good television and streaming services as well as comfortable recliner seats. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived. The neighbourhood was safe and quiet. The owner, Sherrie, was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Nanaimo area, and highly recommend this lovely place as a "home away from home."

Immaculate Ground-Floor Apartment
Very clean, beautifully furnished, fully self-sufficient ground-floor/basement apartment. Large windows with lots of light. Modern appliances, large bathroom, and smart tv with comfortable reclining couch. Beautiful backyard, however as it is shared with the owner who lives upstairs and was always home, we did not use it as we did not want to encroach on their space. Great parking space allocated, and only ~4-5 km from the Departure Bay ferry terminal. Nanaimo is located in a great central area to explore Vancouver Island, and this rental is located in one of the nicest parts of the Nanaimo. Would definitely recommend!

I'm sorry you thought you would be encroaching on my space as that is not the case at all. I love it when guests spend time relaxing in my gardens. Lovely Property
Sherrie was a super host. Her space is clean and lovely. It is well set up for someone to stay for a long time. I stayed for 5 days and was very comfortable. The location was very good for my workshop that I was attending.

Absolutely beautiful property!
The property inside and out was absolutely beautiful and exactly as shown in the pictures! Location was central and close to the beach, kitchen had everything needed to cook with, and the inside of the property was decorated beautifully. Sherrie was a wonderful host and I would stay there again in a heart beat if back in the area. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Sherrie!

Nanaimo getaway
Sherrie is an awesome host!!! So helpful and accommodating, always making sure our needs were being met. The suite was excellent, well equipped, with quality appliances, and very clean. A warm and welcoming experience
Sherrie was a warm and welcoming host. She was very attentive to our needs and to making our stay a most pleasant experience. The suite was spotless and the one minor issue that arose, she attended to immediately and happily. It is centrally located in the Departure Bay Area which made it very convenient to the ferries. The beautifully-tended garden to which we had access was a calming oasis after a day of walking around town. We would love to stay here again and will recommend it to friends travelling to Nanaimo.

A home away from home
We had a wonderful stay at your clean, bright, well equipped, quiet, suite. The fire pit is surrounded by a lovely garden with numerous seating areas to enjoy. A nice trail just down the hill takes you down to the bay.

Basement suite I Nanaimo
Fantastic host, super clean suite in super quite neighborhood. Add slightly misleading. Stating breakfast food supplied. I believe it may have used to happen years ago. Just hasn't been updated. Would have purchased a few groceries before arriving. But that is not a big deal. We'd surely stay here again. Thank you.

Beautiful home with helpful host
This home was absolutely beautiful! The host was extremely helpful and I loved that she provided everything you could possibly need in a home. There was WiFi, with Netflix. Be aware that if you're on public transport, as I was, it's difficult to get to places from this location. However, the host was, again, extremely helpful in providing me with information about where to get buses etc and that made all the difference. Also, I don't know what kind of mattress the bed had but it was really comfortable with snuggly sheets. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

I wasn't expecting a house in the burbs. It's an in-law suite with shared entry, though the owner used a back door. Extremely clean. A smell of anti-static pads when sitting in the living area. Netflix is included and it looked like Prime as well. A large washer and dryer is also included for use. Decent teas and Tim's coffee included. I appreciated the Stevia sweetener. Only 1 queen sized bed. I must have missed that. I used a camp cot to sleep in the living area. Parking is a shared, fairly steep driveway. I found it hard to back my large van in and leave room for the owners car to get by.

This basement suite was beautiful and large with all the possible necessities and more. My husband and I stayed at Sherrie’s for two nights. Amazing suite with huge windows and spectacular backyard. The place was spotless. A few blocks from a popular coffee shop and quiet beach.

Such a great stay in Departure Bay. The suite was everything we could have hoped for our one month stay. Comfy bed, deep soaker tub, a well stocked kitchen, and the most fabulous garden backyard to enjoy our morning coffees and night caps. Our hostess Sherrie was lovely, friendly, and very helpful and knowledgable about Nanaimo and areas. Would stay here again and again!

Beautiful suite, meticulously kept. Outdoor patio was accessible with a little help from the owner. Neighborhood was very nice and local businesses and parks were easily accessible. Suite did not feel entirely private as you could hear everything in the house, but we did not feel infringed upon either. I definitely recommend this great rental.

Thank you for your review. I work hard to provide a well maintained and meticulously kept suite for my guests to enjoy. As well, the back yard is lovely, complete with ocean view and large patio with lots of seating. I have had over 90 guests staying anywhere from 1 night to 3 months with guests coming back 2 and 3 years in a row, as they enjoyed the suite and yard so much. As the previous review states "love this place" which says it all.

Relaxing, comfortable stay — just what we needed!
This is a roomy, well-decorated, and very pleasant place to stay. It’s location is convenient to all parts of Nanaimo, including the whale-watching boats, museums and restaurants. We would recommend a one-day side trip to Tofino, for a different view of the island, shoreline, and beaches. Enjoy!

This is a fabulous place to stay - well situated in the Nanaimo area (not downtown), and having a vehicle is highly recommended by the host. Gracious host will leave you to your devices and not be intrusive. Would book again if available, even in winter.
