Our first stay in Mystic was complemented by a great host and a very good breakfast. Free self parking convenient to loading and unloading was a plus. We loved the wonderful variety of well maintained antiques all over the property and rooms.

Thank you for your kind words. It was such a pleasure to have you here as our guest at House of 1833. Such fun! We look forward to seeing you soon again.
My wife and I booked one night and we *thoroughly* enjoyed our stay! The proprietor - Evan - was an absolute delight with a home/B&B straight out of a quirky movie ... comfortable, welcoming, and just eccentric enough to keep things interesting and different. Great piano music in the background, excellent breakfast and perfect distance from downtown Mystic. Will *definitely* come back!

We had a wonderful time, host gives you a great history of the property and a very nice presentation at breakfast. Would be a much better experience if grounds/landscaping were more tended to as well as the musty aroma.
Our host, Evan, was kind, generous of spirit, and a great cook. House 1833 was very comfortable and we slept like logs. Thank you, Evan, for a wonderful bet away. We hope to see you again.
This place is incredible! What a beautiful little gem! Everything is perfect about it. The owners are so kind, the place is beautiful, and the breakfast was phenomenal! Well worth the price and very convenient to all Mystic. Highly recommend!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The outdoor area was very cluttered.

It was a joy to have you as our guest at House of 1833. Early spring will soon become early summer; the gardens more effusive, our garden 'boardwalk' for outdoor alfresco breakfasts is taking shape, one more month the pool and pool area will be open. We hope to see you again in warm weather...hooray!
Dirty, incredibly cluttered. Kept sneezing due to the dust. Felt anxious with all the stuff. Way overvalued.

We are so sorry you missed out on the magic, the romance of history and archive, the beauty of the antique, that which is authentic 'real' Mystic and is House of 1833. We wish you 'Happy Trails' and excitement and adventure wherever your travels may take you.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. We wish you a Happy Spring until we have the pleasure of having you here at House of 1833 as guests once again.
We had the most amazing time while staying at this property. The rooms were unique and our host was so welcoming. The breakfast was delicious absolutely amazing. The only downfall was we only were able to stay one night. We can not wait to come back to stay longer, explore the gorgeous grounds some more and enjoy the most delicious breakfast.

Thank you so very much for these kind words. We are 'counting the days' until your next visit. See you soon again!
Overall our stay was fine. It’s like staying in a museum. You surrounded by antiques. Evan is the owner and main caretaker. He helped us find two nice places to eat and even offered to book the reservation. That day we had the pool totally to ourselves. I will say this historic place is not for everyone. Overlook a bit of dust and over grown wild flower and get ready sit in the parlor have a drink and take in the history of the home and all it’s artifacts. You won’t need to watch tv. Thanks Evan!
We love staying at The House of 1833 ...this B N B is steeped in history from the exterior to every inch of the inside....Evan goes above board to make every guest feel at home and everyone's needs taken care of...you truly feel at home in this wonderful place of history and the gourmet breakfasts are over the top....not to be missed that's why we continue to go back !!!!
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are made to feel at home, like family. We love it so much no words can express how much we love our stay at House of 1833 with Evan.
Evan the host, made you feel like you were at home immediately. Fireplace in the room was set up and ready to go upon arrival and was fantastic. The mattress hung a number on my back but everyone is different, my girlfriend slept like a baby. Being the middle of winter we did not get a chance to enjoy the grounds but there was so much to see inside the house it’s definitely worth the experience 👍

Thank you for so very much for these kind words. It was so much fun having you here as our guest at House of 1833. We are looking forward to that next visit.
when staying in Mystic you must stay at House of 1833 Bed & Breakfast...beyond being steeped in history...the energy , warmth and friendliness is over the top....Evan goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home and all their needs met....not to mention the absolutely fabulous breakfast and his descriptions...
We had a very lovely overnight stay at the House of 1833. Evan (the proprietor) was lovely and personable, and made a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. There was so much history and love and he and his late partner had put into each relic (and there are so many!) in this historic mansion- every piece has a story. Our only disappointment (no fault of Evan's) was that Hurricane Ida ruined our plans of using the beautiful outdoor pool (which was a big draw for my 9yo son)! We enjoyed our overnight at House of 1833, and if we are to pass through Mystic again we will be sure to come back!
Can’t say enough about this beautiful property and our excellent host. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool area so relaxing. Breakfast was freshly made, Healthy and incredibly tasty. Already planning to go back. Thank you for your hospitality.
Staying at the House of 1833 was a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Ivy room. It was spacious and has its own bathroom. The history and artifacts filling the house are amazing. The host, Evan, is kind and one of the best breakfast chefs we’ve ever met! There is a lovely dog on site and a large extremely well kept pool. We loved the food and shopping in Mystic, we’ll definitely be back.
The eclectic decor . Full of original antiques and history . very homey and relaxing . Close to everything , but, not in the middle of the the chaos of downtown . Evan is the best host possible . been there several times and going back again in August .
The House of 1833 is incredibly unique. Each room is a museum with every square inch of every wall packed with fascinating items. Every twist and turn will bring you a new intriguing encounter. Evan, the proprietor, is a treasure trove of info about the house and the area. However . . .the one night we stayed there our room (Ivy) was suddenly beset at around 10 pm with a roaring noise. When I went out into the hallway and downstairs to discover what it was--I finally figured out it was coming from the room next door. I telephoned Evan who told me that it was a hot tub in the room next door, and that he hoped everything would work out. Well it did finally work out about 45 min later but only because they stopped running the tub. We were disappointed that there seemed to be no mechanism for having quiet after 10 pm.
Wonderful stay at House of 1833! Evan & Robert truly made us feel at home! The pool was fantastic & the home-made breakfast was delicious! Would recommend House of 1833 to anyone visiting Mystic :-)
The house and the room was amazing. Evan was extremely helpful and the perfect host. His culinary skills are amazing. We were certainly not used to being spoiled that way. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was extremely nice and very helpful as well. The house was very close to everything. Felt like we were staying with friends and family instead of just renting a room. Would definitely go again and recommend it to others.
