Will not use a backpackers hostel again

We recently booked two nights. We arrived, checked in, and as we were taken to a few rooms to make a choice we noticed old dirty dolls and teddy bears throughout the rooms, hallway, kitchen, everywhere. We chose a room and were in it for 30 minutes before we left. Creepy dirty old toys everywhere. Offer to pay 50% for the half hour. They wouldn’t refund anything.

Very beautiful,peaceful,serene,perfect,calming.

I had a truly wonderful experience in Murwillumbah I didn't want it to end. I was in ore with the view looking over at Mount Warning from the hostel. Everyone was so friendly, there were great places to eat, and lots on offer like the heated swimming pool and free drawing classes.

Scenery to die for, right on the river.

The Murwillumbah YHA serves Ice cream at 9pm to gather guests together. A lady told me she had been at about 100 hostels and this is her favorite. Why is that I asked? It’s like being on a cruise ship looking down into the water and the scenery is amazing. Which room are you staying in? I’m in the ladies dorm, even though there are 8 beds in the room only 3 are being used, so it’s not crowded. What have you done while here? I like to visit the Tweed Regional Gallery featuring Margaret Ollie’s possessions and paintings. There are traveling exhibitions as well, which brings me here regularly. I live in Brisbane so it’s a pleasant weekend getaway. As for me I climbed Mt Warning, went for a paddle in the kayak and went for a cycle to some 1930s railway carriages for a cup of coffee. Next time I'd like to drive to the rain-forests waterfalls and rock-pools in the surrounding mountains.

Position Position

We only wanted a bed for the night. The location was brilliant located high on the river with beautiful views to the mountains and Mt Warning - amazing. On the edge of town with all the conveniences in easy walking distance including travel. As expected the room was basic but clean and comfortable. Would stay again and recommend.
